Iâve been a customer for awhile. I have a full bedroom set, a recliner, sectional couch, and soon to be dining room table all from Levin.
The bedroom set is cheap and showed up with many areas where the wood aesthetic was chipping revealing the white painted particle board underneath. In the last year the brittleness of the wood aesthetic has gotten worse, and basically falls off in areas that are not subject to any impact.
The chair is a motorized leather recliner that was $2200 for the single item. It has needed the entire mechanism underneath replaced due to metal scraping underneath when rocking (waited nearly 5 months from warranty request to replacement). A week after it was serviced, the reclining motor stopped working in the unreclined direction. So, I have another service on that item to get it looked at. I guess I will follow up here when that service happens.
Weâve had the sectional for a year. It is by far the best item, and for now, does not have any issues. It does however make some loud noises when getting up and down, and the recliner is leaning a bit to one direction. My wife and I are both under 190lbs, so not sure why minimal stress is causing it to wear that way. I also doubt that the item I got was new as some section had worn out âleatherâ and cushion, which was obvious by how other obviously new section felt. We donât even use the corner section, but it is just as worn (and the back sits lower than the rest of the couch) seats we sit in all the time.
Now to the table. We ordered it last Memorial Day, and weâre told it would be delivered in October. Finally got the call for delivery in May of the following year. The table was delivered and the folks were putting it together, and a structural part under the table was missing. So, we have to now reschedule delivery. I have to return my old table and chairs back up from the basement, move living room furniture back, and install baby gates after this failed deliver, just to do it again next month⊠the deliver folks were very kind though, and it sucks Levin put them in that position.
After all this, I think I have proper justification to give Levin a one star review. I cannot see myself buying another piece of furniture from them again. It has been nothing but problems that Iâm just too busy to deal with. It is completely unacceptable quality and I can no longer support this company after spending nearly $10000 dollars there. Sad, because I want to support the local store, but I just canât do it anymore.
Buyer beware from Levin,...
Read moreI gave two stars only because the chair is excellent. I am a 62 year old female caregiver. My client, a woman with intellectual and developmental disabilities saved her money for a year in order to purchase a leather rocker recliner. She was thrilled. She could not afford the delivery fee, however. I told her that it was OK, I have a truck and I could go and pick it up. She ordered the chair. It went to the warehouse and I went to pick it up. I arrived at the warehouse and signed the papers and a very nice man loaded into the back of my truck. He said it was very heavy and there was no need to strap it down unless I wanted to prevent it from swiveling. I had the straps in my truck but didn't strap it down because there was no need. I left the warehouse with the chair and drove to her home on back roads, never more than 40 mph. I made no stops and heard no noises. I had no music on and no distractions. When I got to her house though, the chair was gone. Vanished. I retraced my route and could not find the chair. Devastated, I called Levin. They said there was nothing they could do. Once I signed the papers the chair was no longer their responsibility. I had no choice but to order another chair and pay for it myself. I make little money, I do my job because I love it and I love my clients. The representative that I talked to was very nice, but when she talked to upper management they had no sympathy for me or the situation. I was not offered a discount, not even a meager one. My client is in love with her chair. And I get to work on paying a credit card bill that is going to cause incredible hardship for me to pay. I wasn't asking for a free chair, only something to make it easier for me to manage. For these reasons, I highly recommend doing business with anyone other...
Read moreI shopped at Levinâs Pleasant Hills, PA, on 8/3/2021, and could not be happier with the experience. Our salesperson, Heather Carroll, was wonderful! The store manager, Melanie Black, stopped to say hello and even offered her expertise. They were both so knowledgeable, but also very friendly, had a great sense of humor and very generous with their time. Levinâs prices are very fair and the 0% financing canât be beat; itâs like a free loan to buy your furniture. But the service that we got in buying furniture for my daughterâs apartment was top-notch, 5-star, superb - any superlative or compliment of the highest order you could think to give it. We had photos and a floor plan of the apartment. Heather took the time to measure the furniture, and she and Melanie made suggestions for the different furniture pieces and the layout of how to position them in the available space. It was like getting interior designer advice for free! Amazing! We all really felt valued as customers and that we received superior customer service. They were not just trying to make a sale. They took the time to educate us as customers about the various products to ensure what we were buying suited our needs and that we were happy with our purchase. Heather was honest about everything, especially availability of the pieces we ordered (you have to understand that itâs beyond the storeâs control and pretty much in the hands of the manufacturers), and financing and checkout was a breeze. Levin Furniture in Pleasant Hills, PA, just acquired some loyal customers. We live in the other end of Allegheny County, but wouldnât go anywhere else to buy our furniture. You should, too! So, stop at Levin Furniture in Pleasant Hills and ask for HEATHER CARROLL! I guarantee youâll be...
