This is the best-tasting straight up coffee I've found in the Pittsburgh area. The merchandise is stylish and the atmosphere is very nice, right down to a legit fireplace in the back and a front panel of windows that gets moved aside in nice weather to allow fresh air inside.
The parking lot for the shopping area is free (and is well-lit by night). The prices for the drinks are about average. The employees tend to be very friendly, without being over-friendly (in other words, you won't get caught in a conversation you desperately need to end).
The snacks are average, and not something I usually bother to have, but if you want a snack they're not bad and also run about the average prices (think just above and below $3 for most baked goods). No food is prepared on-site so outside of the baked goods there's not a great selection of food to go with your coffee.
Overall I've given it 5 stars because I come here often for the atmosphere and the lovely drink, and don't ever feel unwelcomed or overwhelmed by either the people or the...
Read moreI came here 2 weeks ago and got a pound of decaf espresso beans for $14.99. I very much liked the beans and I was planning to start buying them on the regular (we go through over a pound a week in out house). On the coffee tree website the price is still listed as 14.99 per pound. When we drove to this location today to buy them beans, we were told that the price was 23.99 per pound. Somehow the price increased by 50% in less than a month. I’ll likely never step foot in this shop or any other coffee tree ever again with moves like this. I quit drinking their frozachinos years ago because they were so inconsistent and I was just finally ready to start giving them business again when they pull this garbage. There are many better local coffee roasters who have fair prices. This chain has always been a pretty sad copy of Starbucks anyway but at this point they aren’t even at a...
Read moreI'm leaving this review more out of concern that drinks aren't being made correctly versus just simply complaining. I initially ordered an iced caramel americano. The drink was overly sweet, and it appeared that the barista did not mix the syrup into the coffee, so it was all settled in the bottom of the cup. The drink itself appeared to be pale; upon tasting it, it lacked an americano's signature bite and deep coffee flavor and instead tasted more like water. I walked back in and asked if I could buy a new drink, which the barista offered me free of charge, which I greatly appreciated. I opted for the cold brew, as I believed that was a fairly safe bet. Again, it was weak and without flavor. I'm guessing that perhaps something went wrong with how the batch was made? The staff were friendly, and I've been here in the past without incident. I hope they are able to address...
