Back in February I paid in full for private swim lessons.(had to pay in full for their policy) now its juice and still they can't find someone. I've called every week, left numbers, emails, and even went in person to leave a note. They are having a hard time finding lifeguards and knew it too but had no problem taking my money. They didn't tell me they were short staffed on lifeguards. Just said we will give you call when they find someone. Now nearly 6 months later I asked for my money back so I can take my kid to get swim lessons somewhere else. They couldn't give me a refund but a voucher. So I asked okay what does the voucher cover? They said swimming lessons!!! Which was why I wanted a refund. I decided to sign her up for gymnastics at the BTK thru the ymca instead. First day of practice a parent dumped beer in me. Classy.
Now in April I paid in full for my daughter's birthday party. I asked them will the 2 story slide be open and they said yes in schedule. We had 1 hour of swim and 1 hour of party room. They didn't open the slides . I asked them if they could since it was my daughter's birthday. They said they weren't even suppose to have the kids pool open due to low on lifeguards. (Why didn't they tell me that when I paid for the party?) What was the point in taking my money if the kids couldn't even use the slide they had months in advance for this . So very disappointing. And they had signs all around hiring lifeguards for only $9.00!? No wonder your short staff! No one wants to work in starvation wages. So I had disappointed kids and I was furious no one told me any of these things. I will never sign my kid up for extra activities or parties. I'm tired of calling trying to get answers and no one contacting me back.
Half of the gym equipment is rusty and doesn't even work. Its flooded with teens who just squats on a workout machine.
I reaaally tried to give this places business and chances to make it up but I learned my lesson....
Read moreOver the last year the YMCA removed an entire basketball court and added machines for cross fitters (same machines in the normal gym without the green carpet) that maybe 20 people use throughout the whole day. The YMCA then went and removed another court and allowed Badminton reserved hours and in all about 10-20 people play during that time. Now the Director has inacted a summer rule where he leaves the end hoops up in the remaining courts because suposedly people have complained that there is no room when people play full courts. First, the basketball courts are dead every evening with literally only 10 people accross the 2 remainng courts, we should be able to play full court. Second, the YMCA literally caused the issue and have catered to certain groups to try and get unique guests into the Y while ignoring their longest and most committed customers. Third, why are certain complaints given precedent over others, why is it that basketball players continue to get reduced and trampled on? When there are people playing full court and you get more customers then you do with the new side gym you built (even though that equipment existed in other parts of the gym) and the badminton play. All customers pay to get in, but some customers get specialized equipment wants fullfilled and are allowed reserved play.
There needs to be a fair esclation and complaint path- and can't be one person deciding and favoring for the few. I want to formally complain that the larger group of people cant play basketball on the court when a handfull of people are playing badminton and want to formally compalin that you made a gym that very few people use and that the larger group can play basketball on it anymore....
Read moreWe play basketball regularly, but continue to get restricted on how we play on a regular basis to the point that we can't play full court basketball anymore. I use the gym, people leave a mess and no one restricts people there, the pool and locker rooms are always filthy and no one restricts use of it. Can the 6 people at the desk help maintain rather then pushing rules down to your customers? We are expected to manage all users of the court or the entire full court basketball community gets punished. There is nowhere to play full court even if we have the people to use the whole court. Why does the entire basketball community get punished and we have to accommodate 1 or 2 people who are complaining? You have limited number of machines and people share and if not available gym users aren't accommodated by rules limiting use of certain machines then why do that with the basketball courts? The direction the site Director is taking this is not for the good and needs to accommodate all viewpoints which also includes people who want to play full court basketball. The site Director needs to lower the end courts and let all customers enjoy the facilities they are paying for. No one shared these arbitrary opinion and rules when I signed the membership form- the Director is a fitness guy who uses the gym and ensures they are taken care off, we need someone to speak fairly for the...
