I don't often leave reviews. But unfortunately, I don't know if anything will change unless people speak out.
I've bowled here my entire life, for as long as I can remember. And never has this place been so sorely needing help. Every single time I've bowled here, the lanes are breaking down and I've had to change lanes. Just tonight, the women's league on Wednesday nights had to go across the alley for them to be able to bowl. I was moved from one lane to another as well, and both times something went wrong.
My bowling ball came back with dirt and grime from the belt, as well as new scratches and marks I hadn't seen before. I ended up leaving after one game because I didn't want to risk having my ball damaged.
The employees there do what they can to help, and I greatly appreciate them. One young man whose name I did not get said that today was his third day being alone and none of this stuff is something he's run into before. I have empathy for the employees because a lot of them are just high school students and this is one of their first jobs.
This review is aimed at the owners. There were obvious expenses paid towards things that truly have no bearing on the majority of the customer base. There are new arcade machines, and a whole new bar area being worked on, and seemingly new computer systems put into place. That's all well and good, but the bowling lanes themselves are in dire need of help, and there seems to be a lack of focus on what actually needs money put into it. Jeffrey is consistently there and has been doing what he can to fix issues, but it's obvious he's not getting any support from the owners, so he and the rest of the staff have to constantly run back to fix things.
I truly hope that the owners look at reviews and see this, and that other people are voicing their concerns about this too. I have overheard many people questioning returning as well because of these same issues, a lot of them being league bowlers themselves. Until I hear that things are actually being fixed and the owners are taking steps to fixing the lanes, I will be making the drive to Mishawaka if I want to...
Read moreI took my Grandkids, 10, 8, & 7, bowling at Quick's Lanes. We had a great time! We were able to rent a lane for 12 dollars/hour and shoes were 2 dollars/pair. I thought the price was great! And the best part was when my Grandson says, "this was the best day"! ❤ (He was referring to Christmas Break from school.) We're planning on going back soon! Also, they have bumpers and ramps for the younger kids. They also have a concession. And clean bathrooms! Great time!!
Update: My Grandkids are now 12, 10, & 9. We had another great time (spring break day) bowling at Quick Lanes. We love coming here! Friendly service, great prices, & lots of fun!! Everything is always clean. They have good snacks and a variety of beverages to choose. Lots of fun memories made this day!! Update: My Daughter & Son- In-Law had my Grandson's 6th birthday party here. 22 kids!!! It was a great time by all! The bowling alley owner & staff did a great job making sure the party went well!! My Daughter brought in cupcakes & a take-home goody gift for each child. The bowling alley supplies ice cream sundaes for each child. Lots of smiles and laughs were had!! I would definitely recommend this, especially in cold, wet weather. The kids stayed busy bowling, talking, and playing. Thank you Quick's Lanes for...
Read moreThe bowling alley has never been perfect, but it's fallen far under new ownership in the past few years. Many "upgrades" like needlessly renovated bathrooms, vinyl flooring, major proshop downsize, and the addition of some still unfinished bar. Meanwhile, the maintenance of the lane machines has been ignored and they continue to get worse and worse, and prices on all food items have increased significantly. The employees are all polite and work hard, the issue is with the owners priorities.
It's a bowling alley, not a sports bar. At least I can pee in a keg urinal now...
