Another good time had by everyone @ the fair..great food..good music..grandstand variety of good entertainment (would like to see the rtn of a musical group) but office was misinformed & communicated abt one if the newer features of the fair (scooters) communicated that a day in advance notice needed to be done on line w/a C.C. card to rcv & use the assistive device..looking into it further the scooters could have been rented & rcvd there the DAY OF the fair..Maybe create a parking area or a shuttle offering to the scooter area/middle of the fair for the elderly/disabled patrons..Excellent trash pick-up which appeared to reduce the amount of bees/wasps..overall friendly staff..suggest Free parking or admission..b/c Sheboygan County Fair is getting a BAD reputation of being abt the $$$ & not the kids/events & community (i.e. $$ for parking + $$ for admit + $10 for event..before ever viewing eating or drinking anything $20 was spent...hmmm?? & what is the minimum wage these days? hmmm? ?..just "THINK" abt it...
Read moreI haven't been in years due to illness but when presented with a question of wanting to go I jumped at the chance . It all brought back many memories , from the smoke of the brats frying to the sweet mouthwatering smell of cotton candy and even the pungent aroma of the animal enclosures , loved it all and my Son Roman for the idea and his muscles pushing me in the wheelchair . We got up front parking in the handicap section , I even made a new friend , a baby goat which fell asleep in my arms , I wanted to bring him home he was so precious . I think the fair should stay for a month instead of 5 days . If you ever have to pick an outing during the first week of September choose the Fair where there's something for everyone even if you don't realize it . Ask Grandpa Cratchet and he'll set you straight on what to choose . I was kid again for a day and loved every bit of it and always will .Forgot to mention that seeing people that you haven't seen for ages can really be emotional to say the least , Love you Jimmy...
Read moreOf all the years I've been coming to this fair, this year was the worst. VERY crowded, no free parking and the place we ended up parking was in the back 40 and we had to walk.
Putting the food trucks along the busiest walkways made for traffic stop many times, they need to put the food vendors away from the high traffic areas or people wait in line in the dumbest spots.
The rodeo team only took up a side of the main grandstand, yet the fair sold ALL the seats! This means HALF the people who paid to watch, couldn't even see or hear the show. That was a major MAJOR disappointment.
Manitowoc and Calumet fairs are much better in my opinion. I've been coming here since I was a kid and this for sure was the worst planned fair in almost 40 years...
