Another beautiful architectural treasure. This is the Livingston County Courthouse. Located in Pontiac, Illinois. Built in 1875 by architect J.C. Cochrane in Second Empire style. A very attractive design and "light-in-weight" feeling courthouse building. This building should be on your "places to visit in Central Illinois" list. I did not view the buildings interior unfortunately, but sometime soon hope to.

As Abraham Lincoln said, “The best thing about the future is that it only comes one day at a time” (Lincoln Archives, Inc., 2008). Passing thru to give Abraham Lincoln my business card!

Asked about marriage licensing and the process. The person on the phone was Gail I believe was the name and she was incredibly rude and confusing with how she worded it. Made it way more complicated. At first she made it sound like the appointment with the judge had to come first which went against all my research so i was confused. Then i understood what she actually meant, call the judge to set a date and then get the marriage license prior to the set date (within 60 days prior with a 24 hour wait period) I tried to repeat this back to her and she interrupted me rudly and repeated what I was saying. I said thank you, that's what I was saying and her response was "well thats not how you worded it" Very disappointed with how the service is handled at this establishment. If you have questions about this process, don't call this court house from the number on Google because you're just inconveniencing them...

The Gibson city square was great. Many shops and museums. There were resale shops, restaurants a bakery, wine shop, clothing boutiques and much more.

The Pontiac car museum was neat to see. There are small cars all over the square that the kiddos can get into...Great photo opportunities.

The route 66 museum...
