I drove all the way to this location from Lake Orion today to pick up the Shark EX301 Carpet Cleaner. My Lake Orion location which had it at $289.99 did not have it in stock, but showed it online, at the Pontiac store for $289.99. When I arrived to the Pontiac location, the price was $369.99. Their website showed it at $289.99 even at the Pontiac location and they would not honor their website's pricing.
A lady claiming to be the store manager got involved and proceeded to argue with me that different stores have different pricing and that they don't match their own website's pricing. I've never seen price discrepancies like this between Home Depot stores, or their website and certainly never had them not match their own website in store. She offered to take $50 off for the inconvenience, but refused to take off the remaining $30 to make it $289.99. I insisted that she honor the $289.99 price that every location was showing on Home Depot's website. She continued to dig in her heals in over that $30.
After arguing with her for 15 minutes and giving her multiple chances to match the store's website. I left the store leaving the carpet cleaner in the cart on the sales floor. My wife got on Home Depot's website and ordered it for the sale price of $289.99 which was delivered same day about 6 hours later. Home depot's website said it would be delivered from the Pontiac store. And low and behold it was the same one I had in my cart at the Pontiac store. I know this because the box had the same tiny tear in the corner of the box that the one I had in my cart at the store did.
So basically if you want something for the price the website shows in store, you must go home, order it for delivery and someone will pick it up from the store you were just at and deliver it to your house. This is stupidity and incompetence to levels I've only ever seen in government. This was an hour and a half of my time today between driving to the store, arguing with the manager, then driving home from the store to wait for it to be delivered from the store at the sale price.
I will be contacting corporate on Monday. There will not be any of this "Oh we're so sorry, please contact us to resolve this." I don't care. I'm not taking this review down. This is going to cost home depot a lot more than the $30 when I share this on my channel. And that's the importance of not playing games on pricing and going out of your way to piss...
Read moreDO NOT ORDER DOORS FROM HOME DEPOT! Ordered $4,000 worth of doors in September, after issues with the wrong front entry doors being ordered we had to reorder the glass for the door which entailed another 2 months, finally the end of March our doors were ready to be delivered and installed. We now had to pay another $2400 for installation and they sent a company called CFI out. CHRIS from CFI in Livonia did not know what he was doing, 3 attempts later and we still have gaps in the door, it's not lined up correctly, barely can lock the door, moldings are uneven and not lined up to match the windows/or the ones they took down, caulking in the inside and outside is a mess!! 1 inch gap was left underneath side door. Called HOME DEPOT they sent out KIMBO & MGR ROBIN to take pictures and look at the doors, they agreed they were not installed right and promised us they would make it right and take care of it!! They informed us that they would have to send out the same company CFI ,we agreed to it but informed them that we DID NOT WANT the same installer CHRIS! Long story short they scheduled CHRIS, we said that was unacceptable we want it done right and we have waited long enough, I mean geez we already gave him 3 opportunities!! Well now KIMBO AND ROBIN told us that they couldn't doing anything more for us and to call CUSTOMER SERVICE to resolve the problem., like really, OMG this is awful!!! Bottom line, were the customer, they should be more than happy to send out another installer to make it right, specially after all the money we spent and still dealing with doors that are not properly installed!!! . Im writing this review hoping you spread the word and don't be like us regretting our large purchase from...
Read morePrevious experience included for context. A few years back, we decided to get all new kitchen appliances. Went to this Home Depot and bought them. The day scheduled for delivery, 2 guys show up in a box truck with cardboard duct tapped over the signs on the doors and they bring in the stove and fridge. They refuse to take the old ones and won't plug them in or push them back against the walls. 3 weeks later, same guys show up with the dishwasher, same deal. Won't install it and won't take the old one. Our clothes dryer broke last weekend, we (my wife) decided to give HD another chance, I went in and spoke with an old high school friend who was working there. Ordered the dryer, scheduled delivery after stating my concerns from previous experiences. Today, I get a call 30 minutes before they are supposed to be there saying I had to move the old dryer out of their way. I said they were supposed to take the old one, they said that was "someone else who comes behind us" and said they would not be taking the old one. I asked about installation and after a 30 second pause, he stated yes, they would be installing it. They arrived 45 minutes later and same truck, same 2 guys, same cardboard. One guy comes in, looks at our 3-prong 220 line we had installed by an electrician 13 years ago when our gas dryer dies, and declares, "This is the wrong 3-prong 220 line. I can't install it. I can leave it here and YOU can install it if you want." I refused delivery and went to tell the manager at HD about it. I was told several times she was not available in-person, and then I called from eating lunch 3 times to be told she wasn't available. AVOID THIS LOCATION AND THEIR DELIVERY AT ALL...
