Wow! What a great little spot for a nice lunch. Fantastic sandwiches, welcoming and warming atmosphere, and super friendly waitstaff. I was dividing on giving a half star less because of the parking issue, but how can you justify a less great review because this is apparently a popular spot for locals, because it is so great! Parking sucked, it was full to the max. I was surprised there were many open tables in comparison to the parking lot, so, no wait. We seated ourselves as the sign indicated. I had immediate service. Draft beers were SUPER reasonable at about 3 bucks for a pint of two hearted ale. Sandwiches are a little pricey considering they do not come with fries, but they are delicious and worth every penny. You can buy a basket of fries separately. There are lots of different flavor and ingredient combinations for fry baskets, at about 6 bucks for a basket which was plenty for two people. I had the buffalo fries, they were alright. I’d try a different one next time. They also sell t-shirts, which of course I had to purchase one to take home. If a sandwich isn’t your thing, there are also salads, homemade soups and a few other platters. I inspected the drink station on my way to the restroom and they were both surprisingly immaculate. Ive never seen a cleaner beverage station at a restaurant in my life. I was very pleased and would recommend Bronx Deli to anyone...
Read moreJust placed an almost $300 order for our office, we've been ordering from Bronx Deli for years, never an issue before. So disappointed today. We tried to substitute the bread on one of our sandwiches for gluten free (as we always have done) on Doordash. Unfortunately, it would not give us the option to. So, we placed the order and then called Bronx Immediately to verbally change the bread. We were put on hold for almost 10 minutes, so we hung up and called back and were put on hold again for 8 minutes, we called again and you could hear the employees in the background say "they called three times they can learn their lesson" So we had another one of our staff members call Bronx and she was yelled at as soon as the call went through "CAN YOU HOLD" and then proceeded to just leave the phone on the counter for another 10 minutes & then they hung up on us. Once we finally got someone to speak with us they said they could not substitute the gluten free bread and that the order was "probably on it's way already" She couldn't even check to see if it really was already on its way. If someone would have just taken two minutes to answer the phone this could have been quickly resolved and we wouldn't have continued to call. Unprofessional and...
Read moreAfter hearing raves about this place I probably expected too much. When ordering I decided to go with the supposed signature Ruben my accompanying friend also on his first visit ordered the same. We picked a beer from a list more than adequate to serve the tastes of many, and before we were have way through with our drinks the sandwiches came along with an order of French fries ordered as a side. Fries were tasty and plentiful but that's were things started to fade. We both agreed that the bread was tough and hard to bite through. But the corned beef was equally difficult and pulled out of the sandwich when trying to bite it off. I found the Russian dressing next to non-existent and the sauerkraut was closer to shredded cabbage in flavor - meaning it lacked the punch of tartness that most of us expect from sauerkraut. And I though the cheese to be a tad skimpy. Table service was good to excellent and there is no complaint there. But all and all the experience at Bronx Deli was underwhelming, and I most likely will not return. My friend said he would definitely not go back. Mainly there are too many places nearby that serve a much better sandwich for less money and have a better beer selection. Maybe we just caught them...
