ShorePoint Cardiothoracic Surgery — Local services in Port Charlotte

It’s been 2 weeks since I had LAA surgery..Dr James Takara did the procedure at Shore Point Hospital in Port Charlotte.

From the protesting to the actual day of the surgery was outstanding. Pre testing.. Cara, Tanya took care of everything.. Two very caring nurses.

arrived at ICU AT 5:45 AM following week .. Who was waiting for but Ken who I had spoken to the week before at least 5x!! He shock my hand and then gave me a hug. He said “ I’ve been waiting to meet I came to work early today•.. How sweet Wanda and Helen were there as well smiling and greeting me MY NURSE, Lizzy was going to be there to help me with getting ready for surgery. Lizzy, knows what to do.. she made me feel safe and comfortable.. OR nurses started coming in introducing them deles to me..I had Paul, great job in putting 3 IV’s in back of hand. Ken, nurse anesthesiologist .. Great nurse and guy too..man is he tall!!!

Then the next few days I was cared by the most amazing nurses Lizzy, Allison, Lesliy Khristina , tana and Brittany.. Each one different but they all have a unique way of making you feel better. .. Audrey, your staff are so amazing and I am very grateful for all of the support and encouragement that they provided for me…than you...

The staff in recovery were very nice. How ever after the cath procedure no one called my husband to let him know how thing went. No one called day after surgery to see how I was doing..my husband had to call the hospital to find out if I was OK. Not exceptable! Of people in the emergency room did not wear masks , some of the nurses were not wearing masks. When I ask one of them why they did not have their mask on he said he did not have the virus so did not need to wear it and he could not breath with it on. I do mot think I will ever go back there for any again VERY DISAPPOINTED IN...

On September 26th I was transferred from Bayfront Health Punta Gorda for a heart cath to the heart tower in Port Charlotte. Upon finding blockages during the cath, I was immediately scheduled for a double bypass. Dr. Dibos was personable, exceedingly knowledgeable and caring as he explained what was to be done. It was very scary but I felt very confident in his hands. He also ended up replacing a valve that was leaking. I would have to trouble referring this doctor as you will be...
