To give you a little insight on my first visit to Shorepoint emergency room was there from 5:30 AM until 10:30 PM one of the most worst experiences I have ever had in an ER room. Had to call EMS because of my blood pressure dropping below 80 and almost passing out. The experience that I had in the ER was horrendous I told the ER nurse that I was in chronic pain with my stomach I needed to take my medication she said she would let the doctor know hours later. I asked her again. She told me that the doctor was called but has not returned the phone call. She would let the head doctor know that was taking over night shift when a nurse passed by. I let him know he said he would tell the nurse that just came on duty still two hours later again nothing when she finally showed up into my room several hours later, she said to me we’re sending you upstairs turned around and walked away when she finally showed back up. I asked her what about my medication. I am in chronic pain. I can’t take this any longer. I need help before going upstairs , she said to me what are you talking about after I told several people what was happening she had no clue what was going on the Doctor that came on the evening had no clue the whole time I was there from 5:30 AM until 10 at night the ER crew standing behind the desk yelling at each other about many different subjects, airing out their laundry about what they were eating, laughing, singing, and not helping patients like they’re supposed to do caring for the ill I laid there discussed wondering why wasn’t I being cared for and helped after saying several times I was in chronic pain finally I asked no I don’t want to be treated here. I want to be discharged. She asked for paperwork and I said I’m not signing I want to be treated the Doctor behind the Nurses station, which would not show his face. He yelled at me from the top of his lungs and disrespect. He could not even come into my room and discuss The situation with me. All they were doing, was sitting behind the Nurses station and discussing what they were eating, talking about sports and airing out their dirty laundry instead of working. What a disgrace. I finally said take me upstairs maybe I’ll get help up there cause apparently from 5:30 AM until 1030 at night. I got no help what so ever . I’ve never been disrespected so much in my life .and suffered in so much pain by being in an ER room and experiencing what I experience, I feel for elders who have to go into that ER room suffering in pain and having to listen and go through what I went through and not getting the help they need please please be your own advocate pay attention report them. I spoke to several people in regards to this situation. I hope something gets done and they get reprimanded for what has taken place they need to clean up their act. It’s ridiculous. What takes place in the ER room of Shorepoint.

Horrible experience, DO NOT RECOMMEND! Filthy ER and staff don’t know what they are doing and sloppy. Long wait times. Doctor Dodda did no assessment and refused to listen to the patient. Security guard is taking orders from nurse and assisting nursing with nursing tasks and breaching HIPAA. Blood dripping from site where iv removed. No house supervisor available or denied access to. Reusing supplies dropped on disgusting floor. Told labs and test done but not provided with a copy of the results. Nurses barely checked on me while I was getting new type of iv antibiotic with history of anaphylaxis to antibiotic and several medication allergies. Charge nurse had a childish attitude, very unprofessional and poorly skilled. Nurse practitioner representative for millennium physician group is okay with patients getting sepsis from bad care, I was told it’s not a big deal and staff do not need to prevent sepsis. Given iv antibiotic but told I could not have continuation of needed iv antibiotic outpatient because ER doesn’t do that but they can prescribe oral antibiotic that is not necessary going to help me and may make me sicker. Apparently you have to be dead at home to receive iv antibiotic treatment at home. This was the third strike out with Advent, their radiologist is incompetent in reading MRI, will say you have things wrong that don’t exist. They scheduled and completed MRI before required prior authorization was obtained and ER experience a nightmare. Better off to drive hours to Tampa General, this place is awful.

Well to start, I had a major surgery here early January and I got a staph infection from a catheter. Then a few weeks later my dr had concerns of a possible abscess so he told me to go to the Shorepoint Port Charlotte ER. Once there it was a nightmare! I got brought back to a room fairly quick because I told them my Dr sent me and he’s well known there. The nurse that came in first had to of been 80-90 yrs old and smelt like she smokes 2 packs of cigarettes a day with all the doors and windows shut and tried covering it up with bad perfume. We had to request a different nurse because the smell was making me want to vomit and I was already suffering from a really bad sinus infection. When I asked the dr to also find out if it was the flu or a sinus infection the dr said okay. He did not once listen to my chest, lungs, look in my nose ears or throat after I told him I’m very very prone to bronchitis and sinus infections. He did a Covid, flu and strep test and a chest x ray, then told me the tests came back fine and nothing is wrong. I had to beg him to give me antibiotics because I know my body, he couldn’t care any less about listening to anything I had to say. Thankfully I got the antibiotics that I had to basically force him to give me because I am finally getting better! Now, aside from the sinus stuff, the main reason I was there was for pain in my abdomen post surgery. After we got a new nurse, the 2nd nurse didn’t know how to put an iv in and had to poke me multiple times! Then after all the blood work was done, we noticed at the bottom of the bed aside from being very very dirty, there was DRIED blood on the bed! The nurse quickly came to clean it up, I’m sure to avoid us getting a picture! The ceiling in the imaging room for CT looked like it was gonna fall down on me any second, it was not clean at all!!! The floors looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in days with stains all over. I had to step off the bed to lay on the machine bed and sadly didn’t have socks, my feet were sticky after I stepped on the floor. This is a HOSPITAL! Then, 6 hrs later after all the tests, the Dr comes in my room to tell me what’s going on and doesn’t remember what surgery I had, how long ago it was and even what my symptoms were. I had to remind him of it all and his response was “ I’m pretty sure everything came back normal, just wanna follow up with your Dr” then when I asked about it the pain he said “if a world class surgeon or a random bear in the woods did your surgery, the result would be the same, pain”. I seemed like the Dr was more worried about making jokes and being “relatable” than being a Dr. my pain and concerns were completely dismissed. Had I not been sent there by my Dr, I don’t think they would have done half as much if anything. Also did not even look at the area I was having pain. Had they done a swab then and there, they would have learned I did in fact have an infection. I only found out I had an infection when I followed up with my Dr days later. I’ve spent a lot of time around drs and had multiple surgeries. This is by far the WORST experience I have ever had. I told the nurse after being in tears from pain that “I’d rather just go home or to another hospital and risk having an abscess because I don’t want to be in this hospital anymore” the nurse apologized and said she would go see if the doctor finally reviewed my results after asking 5 times prior. It shouldn’t take 2.5 hrs for a CT result to come back and be reviewed when they were NOT busy,...

I don't know where to begin ... I had surgery hardware from my hip to my foot. The Dr was great. AFTER that things went down hill. I returned because infection disease and 3 other emergency rooms could not give IV antibiotics w/o knowing which ones. I returned to the er shore point port charlotte and was kept in my regular clothes I arrived in Sunday the 29. Then I was moved next AM, to the 3rd floor , RN jodi, and the short blonde decided before ever even knowing my situation..to ignore me at first, then later on to kick me out. They didn't know I had surgery there earlier that week. They left to discuss me, I was left hooked to my IV and the button rang forever. I peed all over and she had just told me to leave the hospital ..she believed I was a lying drug addict...no proof of this..just a classy hunch ,..no drug test..no knowledge of my surgery...she ran got a slip trying to get me to sign willingly that I was leaving. She even had a wheelchair she brought... Then my boyfriend explained I just had surgery there and I need IV antibiotics. She tried to kick him out of the room and fix the terrible situation she created..and bully me alone, pushing me to sign a discharge paper after realizing that she really messed up. Never talked to me, never gave me a gown, kicked me out then tried to cover it by having me sign willingly... She chased us out and said oh your a ama now. Or something like that. I needed 6 weeks of IV antibiotics and she treated me like a sad little bum.. had no idea how serious my situation was and that I had extensive surgery in that building a few days prior by Dr Mlnarik. She knew she messed up when she and the short blonde nurse ran out for 20 mins taking while I urinated in my bed. Tried to cover her behind after kicking me out, and labeld me a ama.... When she had just told me to get out. Unbelievable. Unfortunate. No one should ever be treated the way Jodi and the other nurse treated me I literally peed all over myself in my clothes I wore for 2 days while she tried to make it my fault. I needed medicine. IV antibiotics. She told me I had my surgery in fort Myers. She told me I lied. She told me some one like me can't get IV antibiotics at home She humiliated me and I can only hope some one will address RN Jodi. I admitted in on Sunday Jan 29... Monday I was moved to the 3rd floor where I was in her pathetic care, along with a Dr who never looked at my leg and a blond nurse who accused me of sleeping all day on drugs. I am blown away by this ... What world are we living in? I can only hope the people who humiliated me are approached about this situation. I cannot wrap my head around this and I don't see a decent excuse for this happening. Let down, mortified, and never being tricked to sign a release by women who have no business in a hospital what a joke ...
