Appalling barely scratches the surface of how horrible our experience last Saturday, June 9th 2018. Called ahead to touch base that we were running 15-20 minutes late for 12:30pm appt and they said no problem. Well it was actually ALL problems. We arrived, they were not ready for us or the person whose appt was 12:45pm. Despite that, the owner informed us that although they weren't ready for us had we showed up on time or early, they were letting EVERY-SINGLE-OTHER appt skip us. (An alternative would have been to advise us to come in at a later time). The owner and experience only got uglier as we watched 4 groups go in, she shuffled us out the door as she didn't have room for one fitting so they were in tiny seating area. We stood outside, in the heat & rain (no bench) for 2 hours, asked twice & denied both times to use bathroom. I had to run down the store strip and find a hair salon that would let my best friend, bride to be who dropped $450 for the seam work to finally go to the bathroom!! (The owner could have popped out to let her know when it was available-didn't). After 2 hours standing in the heat, watching group after group pass us we get back to find 3 BLOOD STAINS on the dress!! She acted like we walked in and did it we had to show her our hands that had no nail polish or blood. The first two were inside the dress on the zipper line so we just let it go until I found the stain size of a quarter on the back. Continued to insist it wasn't like that that morning, offered zero condolence and carried the the most atrocious attitude. Prior to spotting the stains she hesitated to even help us learn the way to close it up. The experience was horrible and I would advise the owner to retire to the bridge she crawled out from under. The emotional toll ruined the moment for the bride to see herself in the dress in it's final stage and thinking about it makes...
Read moreI waited a few days before writing this review, but I decided I didn't want people to run into the bait and switch that I did. I am new to the area and read several reviews looking for a good tailor for some simple repairs. Two hems on pants and two dresses to take in a bit in the chest area. My old tailor in Texas would do this quickly, in a week and for considerably less money. I am not complaining about the money, it's not a big city area so I expected that. I am upset by thinking that after all of the reviews were about Holly Anne's work and speaking with her when I called for prices. When I arrived Steve took my measurements. I thought maybe she was at lunch and he helped her. In stead of the week I was quoted over the phone, he said two. I said fine. I came back in two weeks and I was met by Steve again. He didn't offer to let me try on my clothes to check the fit, he just wanted a check made out to him. I get home, the pants are OK, not great. A little too short but ok. One dress is good. One dress is terrible!! He didn't fix the original problem and took in the side of the dress uneven where it bunches and puckers up!: I leave several voice mails and his daughter, Holly Anne, says he is out this week but he will make it good. That he will call me when he returns. Thankfully, I got his number because he didn't call me. I called him and set a date to bring the dress back. I get ahold of my old tailor to find out how it should have been fixed to get this resolved quickly. I try to explain this to him and he says that MAYBE I SHOULD TAKE IT TO HER! I said I wish I could! But she is 1100 miles away! I got my money back and left! If you have casual wear items, Steve will be...
Read moreI had an extremely confusing experience with Seamstress HollyAnn. I bought a very expensive mother of the groom dress with a lot of beading. I am not a seamstress and have absolutely no clue how the process works. First, there is a line / gathering at the waist that she said is due to the boning and she could not do anything about it. Which makes me think , perhaps I should have it altered where I purchased it (which is out of state and would be a difficulty for me). And this line of thinking had nothing to do with HollyAnns abilities. She then pinned the hem and left the room. At which point I look at the back of the dress near the hem and note there is an ending, so to speak, of the beading. She never mentioned once how she would handle this. I then asked her about it. She hesitated, like she was holding something back and I asked her to be honest with me. At this point she apologized to the people waiting…not sure what that was about…she gave me the impression she wanted no part of me or my business. She apologized to the waiting room several times while she proceeded to take back all her pins. She made me feel unwelcome and am absolutely sure she complained about me after I left. All I wanted was an explanation of how she’d handle the hem, as I am not a seamstress and have no idea. I wanted reassurances, as the dress was expensive. Again, I was not saying she couldn’t handle it, I just wanted a moment for her to explain, but by the time she did, she’d already apologized to the people in the waiting room so many times, making me feel like I was wrong for...
