Erie-Ottawa International Airport — Local services in Portage Township

This is a great airport. I have used this airport many times when I’ve flew in here from Put-In-Bay. The airport has a large parking lot, so it’s always easy to find a parking spot. The airport’s main building has a couple seats inside, which are all quite comfy. There’s also a check in desk if you’re flying with Griffin Air Service. The airport building’s interior also has a vending machine, but I’ve never used it. The airport has complimentary carts that you can use to push your luggage, which I think is quite nice. The airport tarmac is also very close to the airport building, so you don’t have to walk very far from the airport buildings to your flight. The airport’s also near the Tin Goose Diner, so that’s pretty cool. I gave this airport five stars because it has good amenities for an airport of its size, is conveniently located near road OH 2, and has destinations that include Put-In-Bay, Middle Bass, and Kelleys Island, among other places. This airport is a general aviation airport, so you can also fly your own plane into here...

Excellent airport and facilities. Make sure to check out the museum and the Tin Goose Diner on the southwest corner of the field.

Pilots beware of enormous turkey vultures in the area. 2 months back I had a "runway incursion" with one on rollout after touchdown. A few days ago one crossed directly in front of us on short final, seems he was flying the traffic pattern too but taking off downwind and made a low and abrupt turn to crosswind right in front of us. :) Both encounters happened while landing...

Awesome.. we got to see an old plane.. and ate some good food.. mac n cheese was soooo good!. The front desk women was very helpful and our server just started and we were one of her first tables.. she did amazing and we would definitely make the trip back...
