Better than average Mexican fare. Near a hotel and expressway exit, this place is busy. As with most mexican restaurants, they can turn tables pretty fast with scoop/roll/slather/sprinkle/melt/garnish plates.
First off the margaritas are tasty. She had a skinny Margarita. They were a staple on almost every table. Chips were fine, yet the salsa was too mild with low flavor. They brought me a dish of hot salsa which was better. Portions are huge and prices are low. No military discount though. If the weather is right, ask to sit on the patio(see pic). The entrance is a bit off, as there are multiple locked entrances facing the parking lot, but only the one with the canopy is open to enter(see pic). My 2 burrito meal came slathered in enchilada sauce(see pic) with melted cheese instead of the described cheese sauce. Black beans are no where to be found in this establishment. The beef was dry crumble, not like wet sloppy joe. The chicken was true shredded white meat. Flavors are mild to appeal to the masses. Glad I brought my hot sauce for extra flavor. I would recommend this welcome break from the area seafood. Great for those on a budget. Since food comes so fast, I think we will order one meal at a time to eat family...
Read moreWe're just here for a couple days visiting from Texas. Thought we would get the local take on Mexican food. We started with the queso Blanco which was very good with the chips. Top quality cheese. I saw an item called the gringo fajitas and ordered that. It was supposed to be beef, chicken and Italian sausage with mozzarella. The chicken and beef were right but the sausage was no way Italian. It tasted more like Eckerd sausage. It was cut on a tangent and the other meats were also properly sliced. The Eckerdesque sausage went well with the dish and the mozzarella was top quality. One thing they didn't skimp on is the cheese. The mozzarella or the queso blanco. The portion size for this dish was large. About 20 to 25% large. The price points made everything an exceptional value. The pico was also very good. I ordered the sopapillas. It was flat, not puffy, about the size of an average tortilla, served with a chocolate drizzle and about 6 dabs of cool whip type topping. I would enjoy returning and trying some of the other dishes. The staff made us feel welcome and appreciated. It's a...
Read moreDid not enjoy my dining experience here. We had a party of 8 and asked to sit on the patio because the weather was beautiful. The staff acted inconvenienced by our request. They did allow us to sit there, but we were the only party back there as they were telling the other patrons the patio was closed. They would not allow us to put the umbrellas up because they said it was too windy. However, as a person can feel the wind, it most definitely was not windy. So we sat there with the sun beating down on us. Our waiter was not friendly and he also only brought us two baskets of chips for a party of 8. When we asked for more chips we were informed that there would be an additional charge for another basket as they only give two baskets for a party of 8. According to the waiter it's a one basket to 4 person ratio. We did get one free refill on the chips but any after that there was a charge for. Never in my life have I been to Mexican place where they charge for chips and salsa or limit how much you can have. The food was just ok. I would not recommend anyone...
