The First thing I saw when I walked in was a security guard and around 3 employees standing by the door, I did not get a welcoming feeling at all. With that many people standing by the door we had to almost come in contact with them just to enter the store. One of the employees said Hi and asked if he could help us find anything, I replied no thank you and pointed to where we were going which wasn’t far. We had just barely made it there when another employee approached us and asked if my 10lb poodle who was on a leash was an emotional support animal and said if he wasn’t he couldn’t be in the store. I asked since when are dogs not allowed in the store? He replied it was store policy. I asked again since when because we had always brought our dog in the past. He replied again it was store policy as he walked away and went to go talk and stand with the security guard. He never answered my question. My husband grabbed our dog and left the store. I grabbed my items as fast as I could and left as well. I was told the employee who talked to us was the general manager by the name of Jim. I couldn’t believe that he was the manager. He has zero people skills and was very unprofessional and unfriendly. I felt that his goal was to make everyone leave the store by kicking them out or having them leave on their own because of how unwelcome they felt and how careless he is. A younger woman who was the only one I saw working the floor apologized to me and told me my dog was cute. She told me why she thought my dog was not allowed in the store. Whether or not I agreed with her she calm and friendly and took the time to talk to me. I appreciated this even though my experience was already ruined by the manager. The cashier Leyla also apologized to me when I was checking out and was trying her best to be understanding. Overall we will never return to this location because of the Manager Jim, he has poor people skills and clearly does not know how to...
Read moreBy far the worst rude staff you can imagine I was originally there to return my son's unused cup protector they half-assed trying to find my purchase history and gave me $3.88 on an item that cost me $10.00. This was during closing time so I figured I might as well try on some clothing so I can make the most of my evening off I found some pants I liked and I headed towards the registers. where this woman worker stops meet Midway and says I need to pull whatever (pants ) out of my bag or if she's calling the cops ....well yes they were in my bag ...because my hands were kind of full (beings that I have an 8 year old who also wanted to get some tennis balls with me) doesn't it seem a little counterproductive to stop me before I reach the registers to accuse me of stealing when my son had his tennis balls with him in open View. Yes I have a large tote bag and yes I was going to pull out the cute North Face pants I wanted and pay for them as well as the three pack of tennis balls my son had clearly in his hand.. so explain that mr. Dick's worker why would I skip the registers and go straight for the exit if my son had an unpaid item with him and next time stopping at customer before she even reaches the registers and demands she empties her bags because she's stealing before she gets a chance to pay is a little counterproductive. Its 9:46 right now I have every intention of calling the manager in the am. I was threatened to have the cops called on me in front of my eight year old as well as several other customers. Needless to say we didn't buy the tennis balls or north face pants I really wanted but didn't get a...
Read moreUnacceptable Treatment at Dick's Sporting Goods
I am extremely disappointed with how I was treated at Dick's Sporting Goods. After trying on some clothing in the fitting room, I decided not to purchase the items and left them on the rack provided for unwanted clothes—standard procedure at most stores. To my shock, I was accused of stealing and subsequently trespassed from the property.
This accusation was not only baseless but also deeply humiliating. I followed the expected process by leaving the clothes in the fitting room area, which is where customers are directed to place items they don’t intend to purchase. Despite this, I was treated as if I committed a crime.
Such treatment is unacceptable and unprofessional. Customers should not be subject to false accusations or mistreated for following store protocols. I expect this matter to be addressed promptly, as this experience reflects poorly on Dick's Sporting Goods' customer service and employee training standards.
I will not be returning until there is accountability and an apology for this wrongful treatment. On...
