Disc Heroes — Local services in Portland

Very nice people, good selection of comics. My 9yr old daughter, teenage son, and I all found ones we like. There are also rare comics for sale and some amazing super hero statues/figurines. They participate in Free Comic Book Day which is what brought us in, but their selection and good service is what keeps us coming back. And also the awesome pop up greeting cards they have, my daughter has to check them out every time we go in (Baby Yoda and Deadpool on a unicorn are the best). They also have Magic the Gathering cards and decks from the newer sets to super rare cards. It looks like they have all sorts of MTG and other game events normally (pre-COVID). This place was really neat! They have a huge selection of comics, back issues and new releases. The back issues are a little spendy though, so I didn't end up buying a whole lot from them. The atmosphere is very relaxed, when we went in, the employees were working at gaming tables and watching football and just seemed to be having a good time, which really made the store feel friendly. We didn't feel rushed or watched, which was really nice too, as sometimes it's fun to just look through comics and discover new things! The person who rang us up was very friendly and joked around a little bit.

I ended up walking out with a few recent/new releases since those were still cover price. I would give the store a 5 star review if the back issues weren't...

Great shop, I drive 40 minutes from Washington to Disc Heros just to play in the Magic The Gathering Modern tournaments. The owner is one of the best owners ive met, he’s always there helping and talking to customers instead of sitting in the back or just not there. I recommend this shop highly, they also offer Disc Golf gear which I have never tried and comics both im not too interested in, but both add character too the shop.
