Ichi Teriyaki 23 — Restaurant in Portland

I used to get takeout every so often & it was always pretty consistently good- BACK THEN! I came by tonight, to order my usual- Chicken Yakisoba; it wasn’t yet too busy so I anticipated my wait time to be fairly quick. HA. Bec of it not! being very busy… I went up to the girl who had taken my order to check on the timeframe - she said just a bit longer. By then, I’d already been sitting there about 15 minutes. However, I’d seen the other person working with her, placing several orders inside this large heating element - EARLIER! That was the other reason, as for why I went up there & inquired… I remembered- next, that I’d forgotten to ask for my order to be double-bagged; because of the leaking issues I’d had with my food, in the past… so I went back UP there, again, to request that. SO! What do I see happening next, hmmm!? I see a hurriedly whispered convo, between the 2 of them… & THEN! I see the girl who’d taken my order, had told me it’d be awhile still, yet &… Y’know…Yada yada! SNEAKILY TAKING…MY ORDER OUT OF THIS HEATING…THING - & THEN! Tried to SURREPTITIOUSLY Double-bag!… my (NOW-COLD…”heating element”, be damned!) order, & make out like it was… ”OH! THIS JUST READY!! ~ For YOU“ just…all fake-y smile-y. Ughhh.

Well, gotta say- I was pissed!! I rarely lose my temper but I can’t stand liers!! I let her know that I’d seen Everything that had just happened… and then, bec she feigned ignorance & STILL! …claimed it had only been in the heater deal for “just a few minutes” (she knew otherwise- believe me) well…after I got to my car… I turned around and walked back in!! And told her ( her name began with a B… like, Belinda or something) that I’d paid her a 30% tip- for TOTALLY SUBPAR SERVICE!…& that I didn’t appreciate being lied to and she was 100% aware of everything done WRONG! And SO! I wanted my tip money- to her, to be credited back to my card!! lol believe me, this was a FIRST for me!- And! … a new LOW!!

This is too long so I’m quitting… But for the record, on top of the lousy service… the food, sadly, was INEDIBLE! Just Extremely Oily tasting and… AWFUL. Even my Yorkie wouldn’t eat it - and THAT’S! … saying a LOT,...

Came for the first time this evening, the girls at the counter were extremely friendly & nice.. I ordered the Chicken/Beef combination with white rice, and salad.. I also added on a side order of Fried Shrimp, I was excited as everything looked amazing coming out to the waiting tables, the to go orders were flying out the door, I live off of 152nd Place & Main St.. Literally maybe 5 minutes at that away from home, the combination was AMAZING, but the fried shrimp were WAAAAAYYYYY OVERCOOKED, the shrimp were like rubber, the breading was so hard I felt like I was gonna break a tooth. They were AWFUL!!! I was a little taken a back as I came in prior to several people coming in and ordering, and I ordered 2 things, that took over 20 minutes, but people came in 10 minutes after I already ordered, and they got there food first?? Doesn't make sense to me, I even asked the girl, has my #3 to go been called yet, she goes no they're still working on it. I'm not sure if i'd come back yet, if I do, I will call my order in ahead, the wait is excessive for 2 items, and DO NOT GET THE FRIED SHRIMP (HARD AS A ROCK) AWFUL, and for $6.95, they're NOT Jumbo, nor are they worth that price... Oh, ans the salad doesn't come with ANY DRESSING WHATSOEVER??? WEIRD TO ME, they should just say it comes with plain lettuce/store bought salad mix w/o dressing......

I've honestly never had a bad experience here. I come to this restaurant frequently (because it still continues to beat eating fast food every day) and the staff and food quality is always consistent. The prices have increased due to the supply chain issues - I can forgive that. Everything is still the same in regards to quality and portions. There was once instance where my order was interpreted incorrectly (mind you I still ate it instead of requesting a new order - I got chicken breast instead of regular chicken, no big deal) and the following visit I was given a free meal. No other place would probably do that.

This is also one of the only teriyaki places that's open on Sunday too. So that makes it worth the...
