My first visit. I went there for their thinly sliced marinated beef (I don't remember what it's called). Got some tamales while I was there. The Chicken Red was kinda dry. The Chicken Mole was better. Both had too much masa compared to meat imho, but still good. If the beef turns out good, I will make a special trip just for that, but the tamales I'll only buy if I'm already there. Service was super! Parking is very limited.

No se ve en las imagines pero si tienen pan dulce aquí.También tienen carniceria y quesos. En mi opinión la mejor tienda Latinoamericana/Mexicana en esta parte de NE Portland. Uno no tiene que manejar hasta Gresham para las otras tiendas aya!

No se ve en las imagines pero si tienen pan dulce aquí.También tienen carniceria y quesos. En mi opinión la mejor tienda Latinoamericana/Mexicana en esta parte de NE Portland. Uno no tiene que manejar hasta Gresham para las otras tiendas aya!

The prices are ridiculously high here. Like a can of beans I can get at other Mexican grocers for $2 is $5 here. I got chicharones that were stale but cost $6! The pan dulce that is usually $3-5 cost $9 at La Oaxaquena. Dried peppers that are usually $2 were $4.50. "Fresh" tortillas in the store were stale. The produce was...

I love this mercado. They have staples I have a hard time finding near me like chayote and ripe plantains that I don’t have to wait to ripen on my counter. The family is so kind and wonderful. The carnecería is good and I love that they’ll give you a big ladle full of their marinade on your meat. I love supporting...
