I'm leaving a review because I feel the last 2 don't reflect this place at all. I've been going to Atrium for almost a year. Have taken a ton of hot yoga classes, some of the strength classes, contemporary, and have used the sauna a couple times.
The bathrooms are Mens Locker Room & Womens Locker Room. People who aren’t cis men or women “use whichever they feel comfortable in"… which is kind of the same thing every public restroom is? But there are no men walking in to see women shower. What are you talking about? There’s a more private restrooms upstairs from what I understand, but I have never felt the need to use it.
Also they don't have "political fundraisers" from what I've ever seen. I haven't seen them choose a candidate and try to persuade anyone. They have scheduled class fundraisers every so often that benefit the greater community- LGBTQIA+, immigrants, etc. and that makes me LOVE this place. If that’s divisive you then... idk girl. Look within.
I love Atrium because of the thoughtful instructors & staff. I think you can find whatever you need here - from a gentle yoga or meditation class to an ass-kicker. Every instructor I've had is passionate about what they do. And I look forward to the other events they've been planning to bring more of the...
Read moreThis place is a community gem. All the instructors I've taken classes with have been amazing- attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely care about each person's health. Classes are scalable to your fitness level, to include alternative movements for prior injuries or painful areas. The instructors do a great job creating on the fly modification recommendations and give individualized feedback throughout classes. Every class is a bit different so it never gets boring! The space offers a great mix of classes and at various times too. It's always very clean and has showers, lockers, and a sauna that can be booked for a reasonable price. Fitness is so important and finding the right fit can be tough. I've tried several gyms and different fitness classes. I feel like I finally found...
Read morethis is NOT a safe space for women. Males are welcomed into the female change and shower area!?!?!? This is unfair to women and girls, who deserve and require spaces away from men for our safety and dignity.
When I tried to speak with them about this they told me there is a single restroom upstairs for me to use if I “felt uncomfortable”. Why should half the customers lose their private space in order to accommodate a small minority of men who demand access to women’s spaces? This is incredibly regressive and unacceptable policy.
Breathe building-women and girls deserve accommodations free of men-this used to be...
