Beads at Dusti Creek — Local services in Portland

New to beading, and I started with Beads at Dusti Creek for my first project. My experience so far has been great! I like their system of being able to choose beads from a bowl and paying for the ones I pick; I prefer it because I can choose the specific shape and color that I want, rather than having to buy whole strands and picking out the ones I want. The staff in the front of the shop are helpful and kind. They taught me some techniques and tips to complete my project. In regards to their bead selection, I would rate the shop highly. Dusti Creek is my happy place. They have the BEST selection of beads and I could easily spend hours sifting through their “last chance” and “variety” bead baskets. They have a specialty bead for everyone’s liking and you can’t beat the prices. The staff are some of the most welcoming people and they make the experience that much better. They feel like my bff’s at this point ! All of my friends are SO excited when I share my “bead hauls” with them and especially love when I make them custom jewelry. I'm not a beader (is that a word) but I occasionally need some sort of jewelry related item and this place always has what I'm seeking. Today I wanted a new leather rope necklace on which to hang a pendant. They had tons on the rack, but not one in black, in the length I wanted. The owner made me one, on the spot, to my specifications, with the type of metal clasp of my choice (from what she had in her stash). Super friendly and helpful. Looking around the place as she worked her magic, it's a bead wonderland. So many beautiful items to choose from!...
