backup story:
I went to help a family just to be there in case of needing my assistance translating but since the moment u are in that room i could already see and hear how rude, with no manners, zero emphaty, disrespectful and in manyways just talking to them like they are not worthy of being treaded right n accountable like any human being( specially that white guy ), even when I was speaking or asking questions in a very polite way he was still replying rudely and like he didn't care, like he hates his job, he's so done with his life , he is miserable in that job dealing WITH PEOPLE who dnt know the language and just face expressions letting us know he is not in the mood to do a job he gets payed to do, honestly, taking all of his emotion on them.
I could go on n on of all the other encountered moments they made all of us feel disrespected , not heard , and especially not being treaded right. I feel so bad that there is probably a big % that because of workers like them , all immigrants have to take it n swallow whatever ways they get treaded in here just for not knowing the language, just for being there harming no one and not being able to speak up when someone is making them feel like they are less and have no right to be treaded with respect and kindly helped. so sad and very disappointed for witnessing that. It really breaks my heart to see such an outrageous treat.
honestly I don't even know how to feel of witnessing such an awful treatment towards these human beings; I am a citizen and I have never experienced such as bad customer service for the whole 3 hrs we were there not only towards me but to most of all the immigrants in that building( floor 2 , appmts from 9-12 pm Jan 24 ,2024.) all of these " workers" that day mainly a white american male and 2 asians males aswell ) the Latino/Hispanic guy who came out once asking about someone losing an item, he was nicer and informative/communicative and bilingual. I really wish he would have been that one in the front window helping because everyone was clueless, uninformed, and even to the point of being scared to ask . (a lady's own words not wanting to ask because she wasn't sure they were going to get mad 😢 ) I was helping her translate and asking for her to know what she really had to do because the unexperienced workers with 0 customer service were not explaining anything and were just passing papersheets and not saying anything to them.
I don't write many reviews, but I felt that I needed to speak up and not let it go because of them, I hope that ICE makes better choices with their personnel when it comes to working with people who are just as human as we are and deserve better treatment .
I hope they get sued for discrimination or have some type of...

I would like to express my deep disappointment and discomfort regarding my experience at the immigration office. The treatment I received from the staff was completely unacceptable and demeaning. From the moment I entered, I felt like I was being treated like an animal, with a total lack of respect and consideration.
The office staff displayed a disdainful attitude towards me, criticizing me for my accent and clearly showing their annoyance at my imperfect English. This created a hostile and unwelcoming environment from the outset. Furthermore, the person at the door made tasteless jokes, completely lacking professionalism and seriousness in their work.
The receptionist, instead of providing help and assistance, was not at their post when needed and upon returning, deliberately threw my papers to the floor, showing a clear lack of respect towards me and my situation.
It is evident that there is an urgent need for regulation and oversight regarding the treatment individuals receive at this immigration office. No one deserves to be treated in this manner, especially when seeking assistance and guidance in such an important process as immigration.
I am fully willing to support and testify in any lawsuit or investigation carried out against the staff involved in this unacceptable behavior. It is crucial that steps are taken to ensure that no one else has to face this kind of humiliating and disrespectful treatment...
Read morePortland's gateway to tearing children away from their families, putting people in internment camps under horrible conditions, dehumanizing them, and denying them medical care, all for the crime of wanting a better life. So far ICE is responsible for the deaths of 30 people -- 24 adults and 6 children -- since 2017, with no sign of stopping. Come here if you want to see the banality of evil right here at home or if you want to stand with Portlanders of conscience and demand together that this tragedy ends right here, right now with the...
