Was here a few weekends ago and although the host was amazing (VERY friendly) I was there for a dinner with my mom who lives far away and haven’t seen her in a while so I came to Dough (which I’ve had great experience with in the past) however that was certainly not the case this instance. Our waitress seemed like she couldn’t be bothered to come see us (even had to ask the OTHER waitress to ask if she can get something for us). Our food/drinks/apps all came out at once (even after we specifically asked for it not to) which is frustrating as what is the point of putting in apps first if you are just going to bring it all out and not listen to your customers request? When stating we were unhappy with our some of our items, the waitress had no customer service with her snippy responses…to then disappear until we wave her down for the check. Seemed to have no care in the world that we were unhappy.
As I turn around, the bartender also seemed more concerned with serving his 4-5 friends (definitely making sure they had top tier service as you watch all the other customers around the bar being ignored). The other waitress rushing around trying to keep all customers happy by checking in, alongside the host, seemed like the only two pleasant people to work there that are actually doing their jobs correctly.
It’s actually sad the lack of customer service this restaurant has and the lack of care that is evident the owner and other employees. After reviewing their Google, Yelp, Facebook, etc reviews and WHAT the owner responds to (tends to be only positive reviews) as well as WHAT the owner writes…I’m actually shocked they’re still in business. Dough WAS a great place that went downhill quickly and I will not be returning as well as informing people of the service I received for them to receive better service, food, atmosphere,...
Read moreVery disappointing experience. I’ve been here a few times with no issues up until 2 Fridays ago. I was brought to my table by a very nice hostess, who quite frankly was the only person actually working the front. Our waitress (her name was either Zoey or Chloe) don’t remember exactly but was probably high school age, served us. Very mono-tone, no care of providing any customer service or experience to her guest. The bar tender that night was more pre occupied on his friends that came to visit the bar that he was making drinks for, to the point the drinks we ordered (some special and a old fashion they had on the menu) was the worst drinks I’ve ever experienced. When Zoey/Chloe came over and asked us “how are the drinks?” I kindly explained we were not a fan. Her response… “well they are not for everyone.” My old fashion had enough simple syrup in it, to the point it was thick when you would sip it as well as far too many bitters. But beyond that, that is your response to your customer? We asked for apps to start and have it come out first, before the main entree, all the food came at once. Food was “ok” at best.
All in all would not recommend Dough as the food and customer service experience has declined since opening. Used to like this spot, to bring family and friends. Will definitely be taking my business elsewhere after the experience...
Read moreI finally had the chance to check out Dough Craft Pizza in Portsmouth, NH, and I’m already planning my next visit. Located conveniently on Lafayette Road, this spot strikes the perfect balance between casual and cool. It’s a great option for a quick lunch, a relaxed night out with friends, or a cozy evening date.
Right away, the atmosphere felt welcoming. They offer a healthy variety of beers on tap, along with a full bar, which adds to the appeal. I started with the cheesy bread appetizer, and it absolutely hit the spot. Warm, gooey, and packed with flavor. For my main dish, I went with the Margherita pizza, and it truly impressed me. Every ingredient tasted fresh, from the sauce to the basil, and the crust was just the right mix of crisp and chewy.
The outdoor seating area caught my eye too. It looked like a great place to relax with friends, snap a few cool pictures, and just enjoy the vibe, especially on a nice evening. One of the highlights of my visit was meeting the owner, who was incredibly down to earth, easy to talk to, and clearly passionate about the business.
Bottom line: Dough Craft Pizza checks all the boxes when it comes to food, atmosphere, and hospitality. I highly, highly, highly recommend giving it a try. You won’t be...
