Be forewarned, we worked with this guy through the VA. He takes advantage of the fact that he seemingly gets easy money from the VA, as a contractor and he’s the only recumbent bike provider near us (2hours away). The first visit, we stepped out in heavy rain pour and the owner said oh your appointment was cancelled, he didn’t even bother to call us, we drove two hours to his bike shop, he couldn’t care less being he spoke 2 minutes to us and then went back to what he was doing. Luckily the VA showed up to back us up. We got the bike fitted for my fiancé who is a combat veteran, blown up by an IED, and severely disabled. Everything on the bike was to be fitted to the left side. The second appointment, we pick up the bike, the gears and brake are not fitted to the correct side. The owner tells my fiancé, now put that arm(the one he can’t use) on the handle and try to change the gears. He humiliated and made my fiancé so upset, don’t you think he would do that if he could? Do you know how hard it is already for disabled people, instead you humiliate him, saying “I’ve seen things happen,” insinuating his hand would magically work again, instead of just doing your job and putting the gears on the correct side. Fast forward one week, my fiancé has crashed the bike twice because he has to reach across his body to change the gears, it’s a big safety issue. And now the bike handle is completely busted. Not to mention that my fiancé has a traumatic brain injury from the IED blast, so putting him at major risk for hitting his head, yet totally preventable if these changes were made. Since we didn’t stand up for ourselves and get the correct changes, we signed the paperwork for the bike the owner gave us, now the VA won’t do anything to fix the mistake, and quite honestly I don’t want to deal with the owner. He cared more about talking about himself / getting to his friends bikes. Maybe at one point he cared about helping veterans, now it seems like easy money and he could care less about the individual he is serving. Since people will have to use him because there is no other competition, make sure you get the correct modifications on your bike and do not sign the paperwork until they are made. I’m truly amazed to see all the positive reviews, our experience was anything but positive, we just seemed like an inconvenience to him....
Read moreWhat an experience! I had corresponded with Gary by emails several times and arranged to visit his shop while on a Pacific Northwest road trip (by car). Upon arrival we were greeted first by Sophie the cat. Gary came out and got me started on a Cruz bike Softrider. It was fun to ride around his property with the several chicken hens and beautiful rooster. I quickly graduated to the Cruz bike Q45. He encouraged me to take it on the street to a large church parking lot about 2/10 miles away. All went well. I learned that the bike was nearly new, but for sale on consignment from a rider who choose to pass on the bike after a fall. I was thrilled with the bike. I got a great deal and lots of tips from Gary. He has many trikes for sale and understands all types...
Read moreIf I could of left negative stars I would. I think monopolizing this area of retail in the area has left this man with no customer service. Sadly, with what we are looking for is $5-$10,000 online. I always support local but not in this case. Gladly spend online prices to not have to deal with such an unpleasant man. Every sentence I or my husband asked was interrupted with his obnoxious opinion without an attempt to show manners. Not here for your opinion, just...
