I recently moved to Post Falls, and needed to establish myself with a primary care physician. I called the Post Falls office of Northwest Family Medicine, and I was told that they were accepting new patients. They asked about my insurance, which they accepted, and then they said that they needed to ask one last question prior to scheduling my appointment: do you take any medications for any chronic conditions, including ADHD, pain management, etc.? They listed 5 or 6 more chronic conditions, one of which applied to me, and one of which applies to one of my children. However, I see a board certified specialist routinely for my chronic condition, and they manage that condition and prescribe my medications for it. I told this to the receptionist, and she stated that they are refusing to accept patients that take any of those medications, regardless of whether or not the condition is managed separately by another physician.
On their website, they state clearly that they do NOT discriminate based on race, religion, DISABILITY, etc. However, they clearly discriminate against patients with certain disabilities. I was shocked and insulted that a physician would refuse me service based on a condition that I am being treated for with a board certified specialist at another clinic, and that they would deny my child service based on a completely different condition that he is treated for by a different board certified specialist! This is discrimination based on a disability, by definition, which I am sure is illegal. I hope every single patient refuses to use this clinic until this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSaw Whitney Hall back in June and had a horrible experience. I chose to write this later because I have since found a new/wonderful provider and didnāt want any kind of repercussions. I prefaced my visit both to the M.A. and Whitney that I have very severe health anxiety. I was disappointed Whitney didnāt take this into account and showed me pictures/diagrams of how medical issues (sometimes brought on by anxiety and outside of peopleās full control) can kill me. I understand physicians have a job to do to educate their patients, but the lack of bedside manner (especially not knowing my full background) was truly disturbing. Because Whitney didnāt seem to want to take my severe anxiety into consideration of why I might be having these certain āmedical issues,ā I left the office thinking there was something severely wrong with me. My new primary care physician outside of Northwest has since assured me my anxiety plays a role in whatās happening, and I am not doomed in any way especially with the new healthy lifestyle Iām making. Whitneyās nurse, Michelle (I believe her name is), also seemed annoyed when I called to ask questions. At one point Michelle told me to talk to the pharmacist about a question I had regarding a new med Whitney was giving me to get me off the phone. I was in no way rude or confrontational, it just seemed like she was mad I was taking up her time. I also had a bad experience of no communication or no response taken from Whitney for about a week when I was in need of a medication refill. Very relieved I found a new primary care...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy first and only appointment with Ms Hall was for an annual exam. She did absolutely nothing during the exam. Did not listen to my breathing/lungs or heart. I had to ask for the basic blood test. She did not order a mammogram, colon or bone density test. I complained of my ear plugging and she did not even look at it. I had injured my arm and found out later that she made no notes of it and wanted me to come back in merely to order an x-ray for it. It would be impossible to see what was wrong with a probable Deltoid muscle tear without an x-ray or MRI so why she refused to order one, I do not know. I guess just to get money for another useless visit.
I told Whitney that I was depressed after losing my grown daughter w/young children to cancer. She immediately turned the conversation to all about her own problems without addressing any possibilities that might help me to better cope.
After telling the staff manager, Margaret, that I had been told via text I would be switched to an actual doctor after reporting the poor service from Whitney, she said that they do not text and it must've been a robo response. I then sent proof with copies of the actual text messaging that I had an ongoing conversation with someone that was going to assign me to an actual doctor, which never happened. Margaret never acknowledged, apologized or helped in any way.
Northwest Family Medicine is a terrible place and I would advise any and all to stay clear! Even the offices did not feel that crispy clean like one would expect from a good...
