in August of 2014 I sent 8 new books entitled Nekkid, written by the late Frank M. Lee, value $160, (I am the editor and the publisher,) to a buyer in Seattle, Wa. via the post office. Much to my regret I did not insure them. Only a tattered box arrived. I put a tracer on them to no avail. Nekkid is on Amazon and I saw a used copy being offered by Big River Books that said "notations throughout". I had my daughter order the book as I was curious as to the comments. The book arrived and to my astonishment it was the one of the eight "lost"! I know this because I had written a greeting in the front of the book exactly what was in that book and the seven others and I had not written that in any of my other offerings! Furthermore the post office lost and found is in Atlanta, Georgia and Big River Books company is in Georgia! Would someone please take an interest in my plight and help me out? Big River Books has no telephone customer...
Read moreNever again. I ordered a DVD via Amazon. Big River Books sent it via USPS, without requesting a signature. Well, the post office reported it "delivered" but...it never made it here. I asked Big River Books what they would do, and they told ME to contact the post office, basically indicating that once they ship, it's not their problem, even though THEY chose the shipper. They refused to give me a refund. Since this was a gift for my granddaughter's birthday, I had to buy it locally. So...1 1/2 weeks after the "supposed" delivery, the DVD showed up. Someone wrote on the package saying it was MISDELIVERED. When I contacted BRB, asking them to send me a prepaid postage label so I could send it back for a refund, AGAIN THEY REFUSED. So...they ship by a means that doesn't get to the customer, and won't assume responsibility for...
Read moreMy book that was listed as damaged by the US Postal Service a few weeks ago inexplicably showed up on this bookseller's Amazon website. When I contacted Big River Books and informed them they were selling what I suspected was stolen merchandise (and selling it as brand new), they refused to return my ill-gotten book, instead said they would destroy it, and quickly deleted the Amazon listing. They claimed they got the book at a US Post auction. I want my property back. A first edition. Now they just won't respond. What company destroys merchandise belonging to someone else? I would never buy from them. I wish I could give negative stars, but Google only allows a minimum of one star in order to post...
