First of all - I want to say that they are an absolute amazing and caring vet! My husband and I just moved from Texas to Minnesota a little over a month ago. Our dog stopped eating on Thursday and was straining to the go to the bathroom. This was our first time taking her to the vet since we moved up to Minnesota. We took her to another vet around 4:30 PM and they did blood work and an X-Ray. The results showed that she needed emergency surgery or she may not survive. They transferred us to Prior Lake Pet Hospital for the emergency surgery. We called them on the way and when we got there - one of their techs met us at the door and took our dog right in. My husband filled out the registration information. Brittany, the tech was absolutely amazing. She came out and talked to us and said that the doctor would be out shortly and that she would text me with updates through-out our dogs surgery. Dr. Clements came out to discuss the procedure and what we could expect the next couple of days. She said that she would be getting ready for surgery shortly after and would call us after to let us know how it went. It was a big surgery and I cannot express how AMAZING Dr. Clements was throughout this whole process. She called me that (Thursday) night at 10:40 PM with an update. She is absolutely incredible. She let us know that one of their techs would call me Friday morning with an update but that my dog was stable and her vitals were good. She put my mind at ease and I cannot thank her enough for that! The next morning, I heard from one of their techs with an update. The doctor called me around 12:00 PM with another update. My husband and I went and saw our dog that afternoon and I immediately asked to see Dr. Clements. She had just gotten in but she came in to talk to my husband and I and give us an update right away. She felt it was best that our dog stayed one more night to get all of the medications and care that she needed. We picked her up yesterday (Saturday) and the tech went over everything including the medications. Even though they had just had several urgent appointments come in - Dr. Clements came over and discussed everything with us and her home care instructions. She answered all of our questions and told us to bring our dog back or call if we needed anything at all. The entire staff was absolutely AMAZING! Dr. Clements is one of a kind and terrific. If you need a vet - I highly...
Read moreThis vet office was phenomenal! Dr. Albright, the staff, and techs were all friendly, caring, and compassionate. I just knew they loved pets and their people and truly cared about us, our pet, and our situation. Dr. Albright was knowledgeable and straight forward while presenting all the information. He gave us all the options without pushing us in any one direction. Although this was a sad situation, it was the most positive pet death experience I have ever had.
We are on vacation in Prior Lake and our dog was having issues with her back leg and not putting any weight on it. After waiting a couple days, her leg did not get better so we decided she needed to be seen by a vet. We got a same day appointment at Prior Lake Pet Hospital. The staff, techs, and Dr. Albright were very friendly and really cared about our pet. Dr. Albright did a thorough exam of her leg and recommended an x-ray which we agreed to. Dr. Albright was compassionate but also straight forward on the findings. Unfortunately, our dog had advanced stage bone cancer which pretty much dissolved the bone at her knee and this type of cancer always progresses to the lungs. Dr. Albright was very clear as to what our options were even explaining that regardless of what we did there is no recovery. All along Dr. Albright presented the options without pushing us in one direction. We made the decision to put our pet to sleep. This process too was compassionate and gentle as well. We were taken to a cozy comfortable room to be with our dog and offered the opportunity to pay the bill upfront before the euthanasia. The tech brought us a clay print of our dog’s paw with her name on the clay. There was a soft fluffy blanket for her to lay on. When we were ready, we rang a remote door bell and Dr. Albright came into the room. He explained exactly what would happen and stayed with us the whole time. He was compassionate and understanding of how our loss affected all the members of our family, even our 7 year old. Although this was a sad experience, it was the most positive pet death experience I have ever had.
As other reviews have said, the office and exam rooms are clean, pretty, homey, and welcoming.
I would highly recommend the Prior Lake Pet Hospital, Dr. Albright, staff, and techs. If I lived here, I would be switching...
Read moreIf only it were possible to give no stars. On 01/12/2022 I took my baby Scarlette to see this vet. They had diagnosed her with a bladder infection and gave her meds. There was fluid in her stomach at the time. The vet in her works said “I am not concerned about Lymes disease when I mentioned it”. So we then go to 01/27/2022. On this night, she was taken to the ver because her symptoms were a lot worse. She was filled with fluid, lethargic, and several other things. The vet said she had kidney failure but blamed it on “genetics” as she claimed. We then fast forward to 02/03/2022. I took her to the vet once more at Century Animal Clinic to get a second opinion. They did testing and she tested positive for Lymes disease. So Prior Lake Pet Hospital was 100% wrong. I called Prior Lake Pet Hospital and on the phone the owner could never say she 100% had a bladder infection. He kept saying “she could have had a bladder infection”. He was also very heartless on the phone and very rude interrupting my every word. I was only able to ask him questions maybe 3 times total during the entire 30 minute phone call. It is very weird to me that she has Lymes in the very beginning and they completely missed it, misdiagnosing her with a bladder infection. Ultimately, they are to blame for her death. Had it have been caught earlier, she could have lived a little while longer. They have not only caused me financial stress but they have also caused me a large amount of emotional stress, and I already have mental health issues that are progressing because of them not finding this sooner. I paid a total of $901.06 and spent another $170 to put her down because she was too far gone since Prior Lake did not find the diagnosis sooner. As well, it costed us just over $300 to get another opinion from Century that ended up being the correct diagnosis. This review is to just warn everyone about this vet. I got the attorney generals office involved, as well as the BBB. This is purely to let people know my experience, and I’m trying to prevent anyone else’s pet getting put down due to the negligence of this veterinary team. Please be very careful when dealing with these people. If anyone needs a wonderful vet, take your animals to Century Animal Clinic, located in Maplewood. They...
