If I can give this emergency room zero stars, that is exactly what I will do. Nursing staff seems to be there only for a paycheck. I brought my daughter in today. We made it around 1 o’clock. I told him her condition they took her vitals and then we waited in the waiting room for another hour before we Call again just to ask the questions that had already been asked about insurance information just to be sent back to the waiting area. After around two hours of waiting, my daughter was complaining about her inability to breathe and I let the staff members know that she needed a nurse attention? No one came out, My daughter fainted in the waiting area And I had to have a complete freak out for them to react. Just we rode into the triage area where and ekg was taken and we said another 20 to 30 minutes before we were placed in a room where we sat for additional hour until the doctor came in. The doctors that came in was very informative and observant. Before leaving, she told us that our notes would be right into hook up my daughters IV To push fluids and give her the needed medication, but the nurse did not arrive until two hours later And when she came in, she did not introduce herself. She just to talk about the IV. She has to put in my daughters arm and the medication. I proceeded to ask her where was she at for the last two hours? The doctor said that she would be right in. I asked, was they under staffed? Hey Siri respond Sarcastically saying that they were fully staffed In my response was if they were fully staffed, why would it take you two hours to get to my daughter and she’s in pain complaining about his pains In addition to the other things that she was going through. She said that they were busy with more critical patients, and I inquired about the urgency of my child because as she put it Without saying the words, it made me feel like she was the last thing she has to worry about. I’m not one to pull the race card but it definitely felt that way. In the room they placed us in it did not have a call light so I asked the nurse before leaving if she could get a call light because I had to run to my car and she said they didn’t have one to put in that room. If I’m correct I thought that every patient should be supplied with a call button. Before leaving, I had to ask her for her name because prior to she did not introduce herself. Michellea (RN) is her name, she was very rude, short and had a attitude that had everything else but compassion. I came back sat for another hour without any communication by this time my daughter was still connected to the IV and its content was depleted. I went into the hallway to see if I saw the nurse… she was sitting at the desk talking and laughing we locked eyes and before I could wave my hand for her to come she turned her head in a rush. Another doctor had to walk over to her to tell her I needed her assistance and When I informed her about the IV drip, she told me she has to wait on the doctors Instructions, that they were still waiting on labs to come back. To make a long story short We went to the hospital at 1 o’clock and left at 10:51 PM Which is unacceptable. With nurses like that, nurses that don’t care and don’t show compassion to patients that just need comfort and their pain eased. I feel sorry for...
Read moreOnly reason they got one star is I can’t give a zero. Was there over 2.5 hours. Not one person in the waiting room was there longer. The charge nurse told me there were 4 people there longer than me. That was after the 5th time I asked to talk to the charge nurse. And everyone in the waiting room had come in after me. I helped elderly sit down, I wheeled people into the triage and registration rooms because they called out a name and the people in wheel chairs couldn’t move themselves. I moved chairs around so families could sit together. But,They got me right in and took x rays.....and that was it . I’m sure they thought I was there for pain meds. No one would listen after i said pain management from a traumatic injury im seeing a surgeon for this injury tomorrow at their own facility. At this point in the injury I haven’t even seen one Doctor. I saw my workers comp nurse. I haven’t slept in 2.5 days. How is this my fault Loyola. I even asked for you to give me paperwork saying your refusing to treat me. You said leave AMA or wait. How can I leave AMA if no treatment. You just want they money from radiology and the triage nurse. At some point a human being has to do what’s best for them. Great doctors I’ve seen so far at Loyola. My wife my mother in law father in law.....love them.....but as for me past the Doctors in practice I’ve seeb. The ED is about as bad as the SHOT clock in Chicago. You get hit about ever 3-4 hours. And it’s a joke....because of the idiots shooting could hit the broad side of a barn they would hit someone every half hour. ED can’t even do a consult every 2 hours. One man waited there 2 hours, got there just after me. WAITING IN A COPY OF HIS DISCHARGE PAPERS HE OEFT IN THE ROOM HE WAS IN. ..... good luck not seeing the light while waiting At this place.

Read moreI wish I read the patient reviews before heading to this E.R. this morning 11/25/23. My dog contracted a serious infection which exposed me to it (I'm immune compromiseddue to cancer) & had other issues going on with severe bruising to my back. I was initially treated by an Elmhurst Urgent Care that said they are limited in what they could do & to go to the E.R. if symptoms persist. I chose Loyola Maywood, because I thought it was still a premier hospital from what I remember in the '80's. I explained to the Triage Nurse what happened & she immediately said to me & my brother "I don't want you in my triage room, I have already gone through this with a nursing home & I don't want to get it." I was shocked by her abrasive comment & lack of compassion. She directed us to a room & told the E.R. nurse, Sabrina to suit up, because you do not want to get this. I was put in a room by myself (they told my brother to leave) & treated horribly by Sabrina. She was so crass & mean towards me even though I told her I was treated by a prescription & thought I wasn't contagious anymore. The E.R. doctor treated me with Claritin & Benadryl, which I explained to him I've been doing at home & that I also was on an antibiotic and prescription cream, but still have symptoms. My unexplained bruising on my back was minimally addressed & is still unresolved. I did not go to this E.R. to be given an over the counter allergy medication & have my insurance billed thousands for this unsolved visit! I cannot believe they took an oath to take care of people. There was no kindness shown outside of the CT tech Christina who should be promoted to facilitating a class on bedside manner to the...
