I normally love this store, and itâs the only store in town that carries our dogâs food brand. But something disappointing happened today, when my boyfriend and I went in to look at fishing poles and bait. Having a great day, just like everyone else in the store, we kindly try to wave down a man that worked there. Never got his name, but he tried bluntly ignoring us walking right passed, not even a foot away, as my boyfriend has to repeat himself two more times before he actually turned around to help us. In that moment, probably out of the already frustration of trying to get help, my boyfriend explains heâs looking for bigger worms that are longer not remembering theyâre called night crawlers. This worker doesnât remember either and doesnât even have a clue if they care them, and asks his manager, Evon if they have bigger worms. Evon and her little group of two other snotty ladies start giggling, as Evon turns to my boyfriend and rudely says NIGHTCRAWLERS? Theyâre NIGHTCRAWLERS is that what you want NIGHTCRAWLERS? My boyfriend bluntly says yes, and then the entire group of workers, EVON, THE MAN, AND THE TWO OTHER GIRLS all start laughing, like as if laughing at us. Speaking to us as if weâre stupid or children. So my boyfriend stood up for himself of course, as they keep staring and laughing. Evon decided to give us the excuse that she âlikes to keep a good work environment and if that means everyoneâs happy and laughing then thatâs what it isâ. Well Big Thang, let me tell you that if you have to belittle and laugh at your REGULAR customers to keep a good, happy work environment, then not only does your company have an issue, but you have an issue as a human being. I hope one day you people get your shit together, and that hopefully we donât have to start going out of our way to Springs to find customer service that doesnât cause us anxiety and stress EVERY TIME we walk through the front door. Oh and by the way, the number EVON gave us for HAROLD which is supposed to be her boss, went straight to dial tone, so sheâs also handing out fake phone numbers to get rid of angry customers that she makes angry in the first place. But figures...

10/20/25 will be the last time my father and I will ever spend money at a Big R store again. Which is a shame, because that's where I buy a lot of my work clothes and where my father buys a lot of his plants and supplies to plant them every spring.
First of all, we were ignored by all the employees when we walked in, except for the security guards, who didn't greet us, but stared at us from the second we walked in and then started talking very loud about "minorities" while continuing to stare at us. When I say loud I mean LOUD, because I was going in to buy some Carhartt pants and we were already almost to that section, which is at the opposite side of the store and we heard him from where he was standing which was by the exit doors, still staring at us. After that we realized another employee was following us around the store and I'm going to assume he thought we were going to steal because he never said anything to us or asked if we needed help with anything.
After that we went to the register to check out and went to the cashier that didn't have a line since the other cashier was helping someone else. He didn't acknowledge us at all after we had been standing there, so my father asked if he was open which he replied, "yeah do you think I'm just standing here?" Which might be the rudest response either of us have ever gotten from any employee before. As we were leaving, both very unhappy with how we were treated, the security guard said "y'all have a good night" and it looked like he maybe had his hand on his weapon.
That was one of the most insane and racist feeling experiences we've ever had at a store. Never have we felt so unwelcome or like we were being profiled somewhere before. It also felt like we were treated so poorly because the employees were trying to provoke us to start something. I assume that's because how we look, considering we are both heavily tattooed Hispanic men.
I have a big social media following and will be sure to let all of my followers know that they also shouldn't spend any of their money at any Big R ever...
Read moreMy son and I went to this store for the first time about a month ago, to find some boots, and ended up really liking it. He now asks me to take him every weekend to go look around, so we've been there every weekend since.
They have a good selection of boots and clothing, which is the main reason he likes going.
The biggest thing that surprised me about this store was how really nice everyone there was. Every associate we interacted with was helpful, friendly, and welcoming.
The last time we went, we were trying to find a shirt in my son's size but weren't having any luck (he's right in between kids youth and adult sizes). When the associate came over to check on us, we told her what we were looking for, and she immediately jumped into action, taking us back to the kids section and looking through the shirts we we just looked at a about 5min prior. And, even though she only saw got to see him up close for about a minute, she was dead on at guessing his size, and pulled a few shirts we hadn't yet seen, for him to try on.
The part that surprised me was was that she even stayed while he tried them on (they were button ups and he had a shirt on underneath), to make sure they fit, then helped him to decide on which one to choose, telling him the colors they would work best with. It honestly felt like we were shopping with a family member.
After we left, my son and I were both completely shocked at the level of care and kindness she showed for two people she'd never met before. I don't think I've ever experienced customer service like that before. I don't think 5 stars is enough to give this store for how amazingly well we've been treated, and would easily give...
