Visited Terrorfied on 10/21/17 and left really disappointed. We try to visit a couple different haunts every year, and I had been wanting to check this one out for a while. The line spilling down into the parking lot was a little off-putting, but to be expected, since it's a big attraction. However, once we got up closer, we realized there were actually 5 lanes looping just to buy your tickets. This line took 1.5 hours. Purchased our tickets for the combo, and went over to the line into the manor. This line took another hour. We're at 2.5 hours of waiting in lines. I would like to point out also, since I read this in another person's review, the attendant selling the tickets did not tell us to go to the manor first. She did tell our friend who purchased tickets after us to do so, though. The attendants should be telling every customer purchasing combo passes where to go first. We were really excited to finally be in, and the manor was pretty cool with decent scares and scenes. We did get stopped while in the manor and told to hold back a couple minutes because we got too close to the group in front of us. Not sure how, really, but whatever. It happens. We got out of the manor and just kind of assumed we would be going right into the forest. Alas, it was another line. This line was probably 45 minutes. Nothing like having your adrenaline spiked from the manor only to be instantly let down by seeing a ton of people waiting ahead you again. Finally, we're in the forest! Some good scares along the way.. and then.. another line. In the middle of the forest. We legitimately had an actor tell us to turn around and don't peek, so she could go back to her hiding spot. We're moving along, then get stopped to wait again, and had an actor ask us for a cigarette while we were waiting. We later determined that he probably asked everyone that he had to stop for one, and just had a massive collection going. Going along again, get stopped to wait a couple more times. The very last scene to go through was pretty fun. All in all though, it was pretty disappointing. I expected a lot more scares, being that you're going through a rather expansive forest. Since the owners don't have an email listed, I'll just post all of our suggestions here. First of all, why not separate the lines at the beginning for those wanting only to purchase forest tickets, and those wanting combo tickets? Maybe have more than 2 attendants selling tickets to 1,000+ customers? If you're experiencing this volume of customers who are really looking forward to your haunt, maybe consider only offering a certain number of tickets per hour, or online ticket sales, or SELL OUT, because at this point, you're running this just to make money, not actually scare people. No one gets scared when someone tells them to turn around so they can hide, because you're sending too many people through. Going off of that, don't let your actors break character if they do have to stop people from going further for a few minutes. Or have security in the forest to stop people instead. I didn't pay $25 to make small talk with someone who's supposed to be scaring me. You guys have a lot of land and are clearly making a shitload of money, maybe try doing more. There were so many more opportunities for scares and it was just a big let down. The only time I would possibly recommend this place would be if you got there super early and were one of the first people in line, or if you have a child who doesn't really like scary stuff - even then, my 11 year old would've been bored had she...
Read moreI don’t understand how this can be called a haunted forest when most of the attraction is now built out. I want to say that I went to this haunt two years ago and it was incredible. They now have changed their location and seemingly everything else, and I cannot, in good conscience, give it more than two stars. An extra star for the staff is all I can do. I believe that giving people free stuff to rate the attraction five stars undermines the ability to give constructive feedback. We went last night (10/19). Again, the staff is still great, so my feedback is only really on the experience.
We got to the forest at 7:50pm, they open at 8. The fact that they have other things to do is, in theory, great, but most people still wait in a line. I think that people should be warned that the wait is at least ann hour and they should NOT go until they are notified, take advantage of the other offerings. Be up front about the wait and you’ll have less upset patrons (people were upset and harassing your staff about how long they were waiting)
Again, we were there before they even technically opened, but we still waited 2.5 hours to go into the haunt. 1.5 hours of that was waiting to get our second text, and then we had another hour wait from there in line to get into the doors of the “forest”- I use quotes because most of the attraction is built in a field, where the last location they had seemed to be mostly in the woods, this was not. This felt like big and open on the edge of some trees. There were only a handful of monsters in the woods, maybe 8 at most, absolutely none of it was scary and every bit of it was predictable because it was so lit up you could see what was coming well in advance. It doesn’t help that everything is so open that you can see and hear every group in front and behind you, so it left no mystery to the experience. I think the most disappointing aspect of the experience is was waiting 2.5 hours for the haunt to take less than 15 minutes to walk through. I feel like the new location was a mistake, I distinctly remember being impressed with how long of a winding trail the old location was. Leaving people to walk through the darkness of the woods instead of lighting the whole way would add a lot.
I hope that they’re able to figure some of these kinks out because I want them to be successful, but I also want the experience to be worth it for guests, and to be scary. Bottom line, if you’re an adult and are looking to be scared, this is absolutely not the place for you. If you’re a kid and want to hang out with your friends for a few hours, sure, I guess.
Last bit- the outhouses were absolutely atrocious. No toilet paper in any of them- completely covered in urine and trash, no paper towel or ability to use the soap at the wash station. This means staff aren’t cleaning up before the attraction opens because, again, we got there at 7:50pm. And that was the first thing we...
Read moreFor decorations and how they have the place done up with scenery and what-not, I MOST DEFINITELY give this place 5 stars. I so appreciate when a place puts their heart and time into something and it shows. The way they have this set-up is awesome. You can get so distracted by the scenery that you don't even see that someone is about to jump out at you- makes for a good scare and giggle. I love that this is a fair price and that what they have to offer is actually worth the price unlike most haunted attractions which are overpriced and last a whole 10 minutes. This haunted attraction was almost 2 hours to get through the manor and forest which was so awesome to me. The amount of detail they put into this was so cool. I appreciated that a lot. I had a blast and even got some scares which is what I appreciated most because I do not get easily scared at all by any means and so most attractions are dissapointing to me. I gave this attraction 4 stars because I am an honest person and there were some things I really think they could improve on to make this great experience even greater. For one there were a lot of young actors running around in cheapo costumes (aka hoodies with some pretty pathetic "gory" makeup on that you could see wearing off from the day) and their dialogue was pathetic... Not scary at all... Some were even just talking to us as we went through! Lol uhhh you're getting paid to act right? I mean we're paying you to get scared not hold a conversation with you. I was dissapointed in the amount of highschool-aged kids in pathetic costumes versus the minority of older adults with some sense and skills who had pretty awesome costumes. I say invest a bit more into the costumes and hire on some people with more acting skill next time around and this attraction could truly make it onto the lists of one of the best in the state for sure... Heck, hire a makeup artist... Hire on only as many actors as you are willing to help pay for a good costume for them and teach them how to be scary, lol... With as many people there are that come to this event, I bet you would get even more from around the state if you invested more into the fine details (actors, costumes, makeup, story), and maybe then you could advertise a little more. But stay humble with the admission price. Anyways, thank you for the great experience! My friend and I had a blast and will definitely be returning annually for as long as you keep this event running and...
