Love QC! This is the only community college in Massachusetts that offers both a 2 year program and a 4 year degree program! To start off it has fabulous campus which has beautiful glass doors as you walk in! It has a very pleasant & comfortable atmosphere including super friendly & staff in every department of the college esp. Admissions which is located in the Welcome Center which is on the right side of the front entrance. This is my 1st semester @ Quincy College. I want to mention how I appreciated the Student Orientation which was offered in person and or virtually. I attended the in person which when I walked into the Conference Room it had tables set up with QC folders for us containing all the resources and information needed for new students including contact the college directory contact info. The presentation was hosted by the faculty who presented a Power Point Presentation that also went over all the necessary information necessary including Financial Aid Info (photo below). I have to stay I admired the fact that the President of the college took the time to show up in person to greet us. He stated how much students at QC are valued as the #1 priority above anyone/anything else. He was extremely pleasant. I was even told he enjoys taking selfies with the students and next time I see him to ask for a selfie! đ Also the guidance counselors here are so sweet and resourceful if I ever need anything I go to Melissa she is wonderful! Also the college campus security spoke to advise us to get our Student IDs that week before the campus would get busy with all the returning students the following week which is when the Spring Semester would begin! I want to say how much I love and admire my professors many of them also work in other infamous colleges all around Massachusetts. It is a great college I recommend applying here. I applied here as a transfer from Bunker Hill Community. So I had to get my transcripts sent over to Admissions. I included photos from Student Orientation about Financial Aid Info! I applied for financial aid aka FASFA and was able to get the Pell Grant which is such a blessing versus a loan. The financial aid staff here were so helpful I feel very privileged and blessed to being able to finish my Psychology Degree here at QC. QC admissions made it happen for me and I am forever grateful. Also just have to state that anyone no matter their age can return to school! đđ»
Update: I have attending Quincy College now since January 2024 for every semester since then even this past summer I did the First Year Seminar course virtually which I definitely recommend for any new students. I originally am a transfer student and had previous credits but I did officially graduate from Quincy College this past May with honors with my Associates Degree in Psychology super exciting it has been quite a journey but thanks to QC they made my dream come true and continue to attend QC working towards my Bachelor's Degree since they offer both 2 year degree program and 4 year degree program. I love Quincy College out of the 3 colleges I've attended including QC I say QC is the #1 ...
Read moreI loved Quincy College. (2012) It was my first college experience in the United States and I had excellent experience with the international students office. However, years later (2021 and on), when I went back to finish my associates degree and I had to go through the Financial Aid office, I had a little taste of hell dealing with their personal. Then they brought in a very good director for the department which was great to deal with and was open to learn and attend to the students concerns. Fast forward to Fall semester 2023 and I am almost graduating and I get a call from the Financial office and the new director said the previous director was âdismissedâ and she was going to cancel my loan because I hadnât sign up yet for Spring 2024 term. I explained to her my situation, not only she talked to me in very rude manner, if not threatening, she also accused of the previous director of not handling my file correctly and doing things that were âilegalâ, and I would have to pay back my loan bla bla bla. The blatant accusations left me speechless. I said I would call back in three days to sort it all out because I was arranging my transfer to a 4-year college. Well⊠I called, and called, and emailed, and called again, and emailed again. So I donât keep going here I just say I tried to contact the financial officer at least 30 times. What did I get? No response at all.
All I can say is that I am truly disappointed and these people are unexperienced, apathetic and unappreciated of students.
QC you need bring back the great staff you once had. Leaving 2 stars because QC still has some professors that are true gems. Everything else went to sh!t there. Review...
Read moreQuincy College is my first school in America starting in 2012, because I live in Quincy. After completed ESL and some core courses, I left here after 2nd year, and came back school for computer science right now. From my view, Some of the classes and professors here are really helpful and friendly, especially I am a ESL student. They really love their job, and do best to help everyone. But later, most of the good professors left the school now, I donât know why, maybe because the school has some problems inside. And however, some are really bad, lazy, donât really care about what you think and feel. And some professors teach without textbook the school requires, but really in bad quality instruction. By the way, the tuition has increased, financial aid cannot cover the cost anymore right now, you still need to pay more than 500 dollars, but other community colleges may still can be affordable by financial aid. Therefore, I think if someone would like to have school near home, near Quincy, I would suggest to see if you like the programs in Quincy College and the class schedule fit yours. But if you need more class options, maybe other school is better, like bunker hill has more program and classes fits...
