Mavis Discount Tire — Local services in Rahway

Mavis is a service that I have used for many years. I trusted their expert advise, but now I realize they're not in business to help, but rather rip customers off. Let me start with the final straw. I purchased tires with insurance, not only did they not explain that tires are replaced at a discount based on the wear and tear of the tire, but they outright LIED. I was told, it covers blowouts and damages that occur, just NOT wear and tear. I hit a pothole that caused a gash on the sidewall. Well they told me the tire was 88% worn and they can only give a 21$ discount. The tire is only 8 months old, how can it be worn 88%?......So there products are CHEAP....the mavis tire is 174.99....what a JOKE.

Secondly, I had my son's car serviced there as well a few months back.....they did an oil change and bought tires too.....well I really messed up, because never come to a TIRE SHOP for anything other than TIRES......Well, the car had a leak from the Trans Coolant Reservoir, which in turn blew his transmission. Had Mavis done a TRUE PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE, why did they miss that? They told me I needed new tires, brakes,.ect....... but did see a potential problem with a Trans fluid leak into the transmission?

I'm done with Mavis, I spoke with the manager here, Khalil, who wasn't rude, but he wasn't knowledgeable either. On tires worn 88%, he didn't recommend options, just replace the tire with a new one. Now my son has 3 88% worn tires and one brand spanking new tire, which they mounted on the front passenger side 🙄.....

Guys stay away from MAVIS TIRES PERIOD......AND I'M STILL WAITING TO HEAR ABOUT MY THOUGHTS...

On June 9, I dropped my car off asking to get an estimate for brakes and to check a tire (rear driver side) that was showing up with 24 low air. After Mavis evaluation, They told me I would need 4 new tires and they had a buy 3, get one free special plus break pads and rotors. They said they job would take about 3-4 hours. My car was there all day until past 5:00pm when they closed. Total due was $1500.00 I agreed as I wanted to be safe and trusted their judgement. When I picked up the car on Saturday, the tire light was still on. I took pictures and called Mavis on Monday as soon as they opened. They told me to bring it in to check. That was one of many calls and visits to Mavis. Not only is the tire light STILL on almost a month later , it is now on with the other tires as well. I now have 3 of the 4 tire lights on at any given time. Although Michael and Khalil were professional, nothing has been solved!!! They said it was the humidity, drive it a bit so it can reset, the sensor etc...No resolution after I paid for 4 new tires, I dont even know if I needed!! I am questioning my decision as the tire light is still on. I work , I cannot bring my car in for another 8 hours!! I need this to be resolved and dont know why the different tire lights keep going off. I am so disappointed, I regret taking my car there. They are always busy at this location, understaffed phone ringing off the hook. I brought my car into the Mavis of Rockaway to have them look at it and they said they had no idea why it was happening. $1500.00 down the...

If you need new tires, used tires, wheeling alignments, anything in regards to your car or truck, 🗣DO NOT GO TO MAVIS. I REPEAT. 🗣DO. NOT. GO. TO. MAVIS. especially the one in Rahway NJ, St George Ave. They hire techs who have no clue what they are doing, and will damage your property or not properly install a new tire, and will mess up your wheeling alignment.

I went to Mavis for new Tires, I left with Damaged two non repairable chrome Rims, that their Tech destroyed while attempting to fit the new tire, and four tires that don't hold air. Since the day NOV 30th 2023, I've had to put air in my tires EVERYDAY. Mavis refuses to repay for the damage to my rims, (due to them not being "cosmetically " appealing enough) a representative made a rhetorical statement, saying to me, verbatim "Do they look like they deserve to be repaired." Disregarding all damaged caused by their tech, Mavis tried to place the blame on me for the damage the caused. After speaking with Reps getting nowhere, and numerous complaints to the BBB, they offered me a $600 refund and something to sign admonishing them of all responsibility. Eventhough I paid $1000 for my tires, only for my rims to be damaged for Mavis to add an extra 6months of unnecessary stress to my life.

DO. NOT. GO. TO. MAVIS. Unless you are ready for stress and are prepared to take legal action for the damage and stress that they will ultimately cause if you use...
