Review of Walmart Store - Disappointing Managerial Response
I have been a loyal customer of this specific Walmart for over 8 years, and I visit nearly every day, but after my experience on the night of December 21st, I am deeply disappointed in the management and customer service at this store.
It all began when I needed assistance with a furniture purchase. The item was too large for the cart, and I had been walking around the store for over 30 minutes trying to get help. When I finally made my way to checkout, I attempted to use Walmart Pay with a $400 gift card linked to my account to pay for my $387 order. Unfortunately, I encountered an error, and the cashier called over the manager, Tasha, for assistance.
I showed Tasha my phone with the Walmart Pay gift card, which included a barcode and the online card details. Despite this, she insisted that the barcode didnât work and refused to show me how to confirm that my gift card would be used. When I asked if she could demonstrate how to ensure the gift card was being applied, she stated she didnât know how to use Walmart Pay and didnât offer any further help. This was incredibly frustrating, especially considering how often Walmart promotes Walmart Pay as a quick and easy payment method.
Tasha then mentioned she was about to go on her lunch break, and while I was still waiting for assistance, she continued to engage in other unrelated conversations, all while I was left without a resolution. Eventually, I managed to complete the purchase, but to my dismay, I checked my account later and saw I had been charged the full amount to my debit card, and the gift card remained unused.
I returned to the store, and this time I was assisted by two employees, Niesha (spelling?) and Shelly, who were nothing short of exceptional. They listened to my issue, reassured me, and quickly got to work trying to resolve the situation. Niesha and Shelly worked tirelessly for over an hour to ensure that the charge was corrected. They confirmed the gift card was properly applied to the transaction, and Shelly even showed me the steps I needed to follow to avoid this issue in the future. Thanks to their patience and expertise, the issue was finally resolved.
What is especially troubling is that Tasha, the manager, did not take the time to properly assist me or show any initiative to help resolve the problem. Instead, she brushed off the issue and left me with no solution. It was only after I sought out the help of Niesha and Shelly that my problem was addressed. This lack of leadership and unwillingness to assist customers and employees is a serious issue and speaks volumes about the quality of management at this store.
If Tasha had simply taken a moment to review the situation and showed me how to properly apply the gift card, the entire issue could have been avoided. Instead, I spent an additional two hours, including a return and repurchase process, to correct an error that could have been resolved in minutes with proper customer service.
I truly appreciate the efforts of Niesha and Shelly, who went above and beyond to help me, but the experience left a bitter taste in my mouth. As someone who shops at Walmart daily, I should not have to deal with such dismissive and unhelpful behavior from a manager. Tashaâs attitude and lack of willingness to help are unacceptable, and I hope corporate reviews this situation to ensure better training and customer service at this location.
If it werenât for the support of Niesha and Shelly, I would have had no choice but to return all items and never shop here again. I sincerely hope this issue is addressed, as it reflects poorly on Walmartâs overall commitment to customer service and...
Read moreI would give this Walmart location 0 stars if possible. While the staff are friendly, this store is terribly managed. Many items which show in stock on the Walmart app are rarely in stock in the store - at least on the shelves. Numerous times I have stopped at this store either on my way to or home from work, or during lunch, or later in the evening and items are not on shelves. There are always stock carts in the aisles with product on them. Many times with no emplyee in sight stocking from them.
Again, while friendly, when I have asked employees about items shown in stock they offer no real assistance. In at least 10 cases, I have only had one employee there actually attempt to look up something in the store's system and check shelves for me. Others have a puzzled look.
There have been items I have been able to find at other Walmart stores that do not seem to be in stock at this location. Some of the items I used to purchase seem to be no longer on the inventory at this store. One has to wonder if Walmart's inventory control system drops them from this store's inventory because of lack of sales? I can tell you the store has lacked sales from me and I am sure many others on a number of items because they are never in stock.
Among the common items that never seem to be in stock regardless of time of day are plain/unflavored seltzer water, Dial power berry soap, Sam's Choice almond milk (especially unflavored/unsweetened).
There usually seems to be only 2 or 3 staffed checkout registers opened at any time. The self-checkout often seems to have one register not working. This is in spite of often seeing several employees talking up near the checkout lanes.
In conclusion, this store is a smaller store, not a Supercenter, and it seems Walmart just keeps this store dangling on a thread satisfied with the business it does because it is in a convenient and busy location. They either need to invest in more staffing and training, or remodel this store into a Neighborhood...
Read moreThe WORST I've ever been treated. I bought a coffee maker at a Wal-Mart in Cary. When I got it home it leaked all over my counter the first time I used it. I boxed it up and put it in my car to return at some point. About a week later, my boyfriend needed to stop for some bird seed and a tool and we ended up at this Wal-Mart. He parked us at the garden center entrance to get his things and I grabbed my coffee maker. When I walked in receipt in hand, the person at the garden center desk directed me through the store to the customer service area on the other end. So I walked straight through the store to the customer service area and there was a woman there. I approached her with a smile, holding my receipt out and before I could get in one word she barked "Where'd you come from with that!?" I didn't know what she meant so I paused. She repeated herself loudly demanding to know where I came from. I told her I came from the garden center. She then proceeded to accuse me of taking a coffee maker off the shelf to get money for it. "But here's my receipt, I bought this last week" I said. She kept yelling at me about how even with a receipt, I came through the store so I was probably stealing and began to threaten me with the consequences of stealing. I was speechless. I told her that I had been directed here by the other employee, that I walked through the store, that she could check cameras if she wanted. She finally snatched the box from me and opened it with a knife and inspected it. She scoffed a few times and processed my $16 return, still looking at me like I was a dirty criminal. At this point I was angry. I hadn't done anything wrong. On my way out I checked both doors of the store and NOWHERE does it have any instructions for returns. I can't believe the way I was...
