First off, I loved the energy of this place! I've never been before but I was on a search for two specific board games (The Castles of Burgundy & Dominion) and a lot of places didn't have them. Fortunately, I called before coming to the store to ask if they had them in stock and they did! Even over the phone, Jessica was very nice and accommodating. Being that she only had the last copy of each, she even offered to put them on hold for me which was great! I ended up getting it the same day and the pricing was great because they also have a 10% off promo. Their other selections were great as well and they're very knowledgeable on all the games if you ask. Glad I could support a local small business, and if you're considering it you should too! Highly recommend you check them out!

Was on the search for King of Tokyo and this place had the base game and the power up expansion -- for 10% off too! It's been owned by the same people since the 1970's, I believe. They have so many good news games as well as very old classics that are out of circulation now. 10/10 recommend for any board game enthusiasts.

Good service. The staff knows the gaming/model merchandise. I like the customer connection.

To start, it's been about a year since I visited the store. Not because I don't have the desire to return (in fact I do)... It has more to do with the finance LOL. look, for those of us old enough to remember what a hobby shop should be like, if you remember the sites in the feeling you got when you walked into one when you were a kid, like we couldn't absorb everything you were seeing because of all the stimuli loaded in front of your eyes well then, yeah this is that place! they represent various types of hobbies here scale model building, gaming and so forth. My niece happens b model airplanes and they have a great selection scale model kits and all sorts of paints and other accessories that you might need to complete your hobby. The people that work there are exceedingly nice and helpful, and friendly and down-to-earth. It was a time when most every city had a hobby shop sort of like this. But that was in a day and age we're young people and old alike often gravitated towards building model kits, and using their hands for something other than video games. I'm afraid afraid those days are all but gone. That makes the store kind of a dinosaur in a way but it's one that I love to go to. In fact, I'm so taken with this place that I drive a great distance oh, that is from Modesto all the way to Sacramento just to visit this place when I can. Yes, you can get most of the stuff online. But that takes away from the experience. And while I don't live in Sacramento I try and support businesses oh, that is brick and mortar business is the best I can. I do shop on Amazon and eBay and all those other places just like everyone else, but I made a conscious decision to try and buy from the ground level when I can. If you're anything like me and you get absorbed by the type of magic that a hobby shop evokes then you'll have a good time here. I can easily walk in and kill an hour just walking around, and stuff in my pocket, and just looking at everything they have. It takes a disciplined mind to try to not buy everything in the store. In fact, I ain't trying to leave my credit cards at home because I could easily get carried away here. Still, I always manage to buy something even if it's something as small as a bottle of paint or something enormous like a b-29 Superfortress in 1/48 scale. I like supporting the little guy. What else can I say? it's a sort of thing sounds peeling to you and come on down. You...

As a new Game Master for Pathfinder, I did a lot of searching to find a store that supports my hobby. I made the drive from Stockton to check this place out because of the reviews I read, and I must say I was blown away. The reviews don't do this place justice. Yes, I could probably get a lot of the Pathfinder materials a little cheaper online, but there is no substitute for seeing and holding the real thing in your hands before purchasing it.

My group wanted to start playing a new pen-and-paper RPG, and it had been years since any of us had played. Not only did Viking's staff provide unbiased reviews of each of the current roleplaying games, they allowed me to open sealed boxes and books to check out the contents for myself before spending the money. The knowledge of the staff, and their continued commitment to the customer will keep me coming back for...

This store may be small, but it has the BIGGEST selection of board games I've encountered in Sacramento. If you are a hobbyist gamer check this place out immediately. The owners are EXTREMELY knowledgeable about all board games, including new releases and games they don't personally play.

On a recent visit, my group was looking for a newly release copy of Mansions of Madness 2nd Edition. The owner explained she was expecting a copy in that day and immediately got on the phone to track her delivery driver down for us. The driver did not respond, but she INSISTED we wait 10 mins while she drove his route and looked for him. Sure enough! Within 10 mins she was back with her daily deliveries in tow and excitedly bestowed us with the copy of the game we were looking for! That's service I GUARANTEE you won't get anywhere else in...
