Weis Discount Liquors — Local services in Randolph Township

It’s nice and very convenient to have the new Weis Discount Liquor store here in town, especially if you’re picking up groceries. The store is relatively small (not by any means tiny but not quite as large as some of the other local competitors) but it is clean and very organized. I hope it stays this way over time. The products are well-stocked and for the most part straight as an arrow on the shelves! The employees seemed pleasant and professional. The line was longer than I expected. I was comparing it with Wine King, where I typically don’t ever have much of a wait. This may sound like a petty complaint, but when you’re used to the in-and-out on a busy schedule, of course you’re going to factor this into your experience. The employees present very well- they are clean-cut and respectful. *Just a suggestion though, although being called “young lady” by an older gentleman when you’re a few months shy of 40 is essentially a compliment, it could be interpreted as condescending if you say it to the wrong woman. ;) I tried to handle it with humor when addressed this way, but it’s important to be aware that some women may not take as kindly to this moniker. It’s probably best to just stick to the standard, “Have a nice night,” and eliminate the suffix ha. Again, just a friendly suggestion, coming from someone who has worked in both the retail market and corporate environments. Now, for the prices...well, yes, the discounts are there, but I’m not entirely sure that they are competitive enough to warrant a “frequent shopper” status. I still ended up paying a bit more after the markdowns than I would have at some other discount shops/online retailers. I will definitely be back due to convenience but I can’t see myself making this...

Where do I start, I guess I’ll start with the terrible beer variety, I’m not a craft beer advocate but they only carry the big name brands. It be nice to see more local NJ breweries, so if your going for a good local craft beer, you won’t find it here (magnify, Carton, Kane, etc). To make matters worse, they need to turn the cooler down, the beer is just cool, almost warm...and I didn’t just grab a newly placed pack, I checked all of them, and all of them were just cool, not cold... lastly they call themselves “discount” this place is anything but discounted, it’s actually more expensive then most places, which is probably the most disturbing and annoying...either way, I would not recommend this place, unless maybe your into wine but you’ll still pay top dollar. Not a lot of selection since the store is kind of small. My #1 thing is.. the couple times I stopped here there's a very rude and unprofessional guy that works here...Doesn't greet anyone and answers questions with just yes or no in an attitude tone.
