My family and I have been loyal customers of Forte’s since this location opened. Recently, my grandma has developed Alzheimer’s and unfortunately placed an order for delivery today (12/24). Her caretaker was with her the several days prior when she thought she placed the order and notified me so I could cancel it as our family has cancelled holiday celebrations due to her illness. I did call Forte’s to verify that she did not place an order and provided her phone number to check - they told me she did not place an order.
Today, a delivery driver did show up but my grandma and her caretaker didn’t answer the door, about an hour later my grandma had a brief lucid moment and remembered she was supposed to get a delivery so she called Forte’s and they sent the driver back. I rushed over to my grandma’s house (with no jacket, sandals on, and wet hair in a towel) to try to resolve this as we did not want this food. I tried to explain to the delivery driver (who was very nice) and he had me call the store.
At first, I spoke with a general employee who answers the phones (he was very nice and empathetic to my situation). He then grabbed a manager or supervisor (?) and I explained my grandma’s illness and how we did not want this food. The manager was extremely rude and lacked empathy for my family’s situation. He said “It’s the busiest day of the year, why are you doing this to me.” To which I responded and explained once more “My grandma has Alzheimer’s and I’m doing my best, I’m sorry this is happening on your busiest day.” Afterwards, he hung up on me.
I’ve worked in the food and health care industry for many years - I would never be disrespectful to someone who is caring for a sick family member no matter what day it is. My family and I have been under enough stress these past several months and a little sympathy regarding an elderly woman with Alzheimer’s making a mistake, would be greatly appreciated during the...
Read moreGreat Dinner ruined by HORRIBLE waiter/manager Ilir
Was at Forte last night to celebrate a birthday dinner with a group of friends. Our meals were delicious, but our waiter/manager Ilir was horrible. It started during our meal when he began screaming at and belittling the young lady (the hostess) while standing right next to our table. While extremely unprofessional and should have been handled “off the floor”, we shrugged it off and continued with our meal.
Our real issue came when the bill was dropped at the table. One member of our party ordered a salad and added salmon on top. When we received the bill and there was an “open item” listed for $33. We asked the waiter (not Ilir) if that was the salad with salmon on top, as these seem “high” when compared to the Zuppa Di Pesce meal was $35. He said yes and we politely asked to speak with a manager.
Over comes Ilir, who was also waiting on our table. I once again asked him if the $33 was the salad with the salmon as I was curious. He said “yes that is what you ordered”. I then asked, just to clarify, that adding a piece of salmon to a salad is $23, as adding 8 oz steak is $10? After becoming loud and nasty, drawing the attention of other diners around us, I was told “You ordered the salmon special served over salad and the price of that dinner is $33, I don’t set the prices”. Followed by “he was finished talking to me” and walked away!. We actually did not order the salmon dinner special served over a salad. We ordered the arugula salad with an added piece of salmon on it.
As much as we enjoy the food at Forte and have gone often, I can guarantee you, these four families will not be returning. Ilir if this is how you choose to talk to people, when they politely ask a reasonable question about their bill, you are in the...
Read moreI’m not a regular reviewer good or bad but this was the worst dining experience EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Arrived here at 11:35am. They opened at 11am according to the website. Went inside where we stood for 5 mins. Finally the receptionist, for lack of a better word looked our way. Asked for a table. There were two of us. Told her we would eat outside. Asked us if we wanted full service. Yes, we want full service. Didn’t know exactly what other service options there were. She told us to go out and take a table and someone would be out with menus. 20 mins passed - no someone with anything much less a menu. Went in was told to take menu and order and food would be brought out to us. finally placed order 1) #8 some chicken sandwich (which was good) and a well-done bacon cheeseburger – both overpriced. Sandwich came out pretty quickly. I expected the burger to take a bit longer due to my request for well done, but never thought it would be 25 mins. The bacon came 15 mins later – and I thought they just forgot it all together. Also, waiting 25 mins for the well-done burger you’d expect to see NO PINK meat. I was wrong. Needless to say, the service was awful. No checking in to see if everything was OK or if we needed anything. No one; nothing. Finally went in paid the bill, minus the bacon charge!!! Beyond overpriced for mediocre food and awful service. I believe the gentleman who was blowing the leaves from the outdoor seating area brought our food. Bathroom was disgusting with no paper products to be found. Wonder what the staff are drying their hands with? If even washing them at all?! Maybe stick with pizza and pick up – otherwise...
