Slumberland Furniture — Local services in Rapid City

My family and I recently moved to a new home and we decided to go shopping for brand new furniture. This is only the 2nd time my husband and I have purchased brand new furniture in our 20 years together. The 1st being a really nice rocking chair my husband gifted me as a mother's day present after the birth of our 1st born. We stopped in to Slumberland with a bit of a predicament that not just any furniture piece would fit in to. After going back and forth for hours in the store between a chase lounge couch and a microsuede sectional we decided to head home and do some measuring to help us decide which would be the best option. We settled on the gorgeous blue, cloth, chase lounge couch with ottoman (sorry honey, he had his heart on the sectional). Back to the store we went to tell Steve (the owner) what our decision was. Because of Slumberland's great prices and also the Labor Day sale that was extended we were able to purchase a dining table set along with our couch. We could not believe the great deal we got on both. We figured we would have to wait a few months before being able to purchase a dining set too. Steve was amazing from start to finish with helping us to make our new home cozy and by far made this the best experience we have had when shopping and looking to make such a large purchase. I try to buy local, but when stuff like this happens, its tough. I tried to return a mattress I had for less than a day because it is too firm. Tammy helped me out, was nice, but there was misinformation given to me when I purchased the mattress. She even attested to this. Now, I cant return it because its 'custom' (California King). Steve, the manager, basically said I'm lying because Tammy has worked there so long, he knows she would have told me the return policy before purchasing. He did offer a topper, and that didnt help my situation either, but that's not my argument. I bought the topper with full knowledge of its non-returnable policy. Its the matttess that's the problem. We bought a mattress, box spring, bed frame, mattress cover, and a pillow. We are satisfied with the merchandise we purchased. The salesman who sold us the mattress showed us several options and asked questions to understand our needs. Our delivery and setup were included with the purchase. The delivery workers were great. The one hitch was the bed frame. We bought it the day before delivery, due to the one we had was not correct. We went to the store and bought the frame. We set it up and waited on delivery. When the mattress arrived we were informed the frame was wrong. After phone calls we went back to Slumberland and exchanged frames. Shame on me for not double checking the label on first frame. I assumed it was right since they handed it to me at the store. My wife and I will now complete the mattress setup. This is only a half star reduction. So my rating is a 4.5 stars.
