I had a very odd experience here that I thought might be helpful to share with others. I am new to the area and wanted to find a local hairdresser. I was referred to Toria for my curly hair that was pretty short at the time. I got a few OK hair cuts from her and found her to be very nice so I continued coming back. I know that it can take some time to get on the same page with your hairdresser and she seemed willing to work with me. I will say that she is very thorough and methodical, which I appreciate. After a few of these cuts she bumped me just hours before my next appointment asking if i could come in hours after the time I booked her for. This does not work for me as I have a busy schedule that is carefully planned. Needless to say I was annoyed but let it go as an isolated incident. I rebooked and was not entirely satisfied with my cut so I asked for a follow up appointment, to trim up the sides. She got me in quickly, which I was thankful for. While there I found that she had only blocked off enough time for me to cut just the sides of my hair above my ears. Apparently I had used the wrong terminology, which I own up to. But really, who does that? Two little chunks out of the front? No blending with the rest of cut? Once we established that I meant all of the "sides" which to her is the "back" (I get it) there was no time to fix it because the person after me had already been bumped once that day. So I lived with this very odd haircut for a few days then contacted her to see when she could "finish" the cut as we had discussed only to find she had blocked my number. Very strange and unprofessional behavior in my opinion. I work in the service industry myself and that is not how we let clients go. There is an actual conversation as why the professional relationship is not going to work and generally a recommendation to a provider who would be a better fit. Simply blocking a client's number and calling it good seems very odd to me. Fun fact: I found out from her coworker during my last cut that Toria does NOT actually cut short hair as a rule. Which, in retrospect, stands to reason. So I guess curly girls with short hair and people on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy stylist - Tishea, is truly an expert! My hair is very long. Mostly, I do my own styling but the older I become, doing my own hair gets a little trying. So, I searched for a stylist who had experience, some one I can trust but mainly would not look at my skin color and conclude she would not be able to style my hair.
In 2018, I made an appointment at Red Chair Salon with Tishea. When I arrived at my appointment she did not go into shock, she treated me very kindly. Tishea examined my hair, talked with me about the type of products I use. She also inquired about my hair care techniques. Tishea also described the smoothing product she uses and the application process.
In November of 2018, Tishea applied the Kevin Murphy smoothing treatment on my hair. Compared to the smoothing treatment I had a couple of years prior, KM became an instant hit with me. Because I wear it so well, July 2019 I went back for another application.
The Kevin Murphy Smoothing Treatment wears well on me*) No breakage, thinning, or burned out spots. No tattered ends, or singed hair. Just high shine, body, and bounce!
No matter my style, straight, beach waves, or curls, my product choices: Mazani Clarifying Shampoo and Smoothing Conditioner and Curls Unleashed pairs very well with the Kevin Murphy Smooth Treatment.
Last, it takes a great stylist to work with long hair, a smoothing process, trim and style. Tishea is that stylist! She is amazing! She knows her products, her clients, and hair texture. She listens and ensures the services and products are the best fit for her clients. Red Chair Salon is your place for amazing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came in for a partial highlight to correct some red tones from a previous, different salonās service. The stylist was kind and friendly, but definitely did not give me what I asked for or wanted. Once she saw how it turned out, she immediately said she āwasnāt satisfiedā with the color job and offered for me to come back and have her fix it. I agreed, but once I went home and saw the extent to which it was botched (it was VERY bad) I was no longer comfortable having her work on my hair again, and risk a worse job and more bleach damage. I kindly asked for a refund and was told they have a āno refund policyā despite her acknowledging that she wasnāt satisfied with her own work. I then reiterated my disappointment and asked for a partial refund and was ignored. Very disappointing and do not...
