I did research around 2 months before my daughter's 4th birthday because she said she wanted to celebrate with both family and friends. I love celebrating my daughter so we went to a bunch of places near our area, and decided on We Rock the Spectrum Gaithersburg. It's not the first time I've had an event at a play gym, so I kind of knew what to expect. I met Pam when we came to visit, and she was also there to welcome me when I came to drop off decorations on the event date. I never do things half way, so if I plan a party, I'll do it in my style. I wanted to decorate it myself and since the room was free, she let me in and said I could set up. The party was a success. All the kids had a blast! We had the whole area for 2 hours, 4-6pm, the time flew and around 5:40pm, I asked Pam if I could extend time, an hour or 30 min. I felt Kristina was rude in telling me it would be $175 for an extra hour and she was clearly annoyed. I looked over at Pam and tried asking, but we left it at an extra 30 minutes for $75. The party for the kids was great, but I left feeling a certain way. Kristina had charged me $500 for the room (which is now $600), $75 for an extra 30 minutes, and $30 for hanging some items. They ordered the food for us and the pizza box had a receipt charge of $137.24, but she charged me $185 for the food. It felt very nickel and dime. I didn't leave feeling that good considering the party went well, because of this and how she acted that day. I paid $75 for an extra 30 minutes til 6:30pm, and at 6:20pm, she started yelling "5 more minutes!." It could have been better, and when my husband asked me why the food was more expensive than it should have been, I called Pam to ask and shared my feelings. She apologized and explained Kristina was having a bad day and refunded to me the tip I left of $50. The space is very good for kids, the service we got could have been a lot better. I was going to leave 3 stars, but she may have been just having a bad day. The space and zipline is awesome for a kids...
Read moreKristina the owner was very rude. She lacked kindness and respect. I parked at their reserved spot around 8:15 pm way after business hours and she asked me to move my car very rudely and continued to berate me as I was standing outside ready to move my car. I understood I was in the wrong I had no problem moving my car but there was no need for her to be so rude and unkind. Please treat people with kindness and respect. Edit to owners response: I completely understand and if I would have seen the place was operating I would have absolutely not parked there. The place was clearly closed and all lights were off. The problem is the way Kristina handled the situation and how disrespectful she was. Edit to Liza’s response: I never said I wasn’t in the wrong. I already stated I had no problem moving my car because I understood Kristina completely. My first impression of Kristina was straight unkindness and rudeness. I’m sure she has a wonderful side to her but she did not approach me or talk to me with kindness. I left 1 review about her actions towards me and now I have to respond to 2 reviews within a couple hours. Kristina can have her morals while being kind and respectful. I don’t have to continue explaining myself, Kristina knows how she treated me and that there was no need for her to react that way towards me. I hope nothing but the best for Kristina, just remember to treat people the way you would like...
Read moreAll the positive reviews are spot on - this is an ideal place for a birthday party! As the name suggests, it is a welcoming place for kids of all abilities and needs, which I love - but honestly we just went because it's a great place for any kid to have a party. We found it based on word of mouth from other local parents on Facebook and I can see why everyone loves it. We had my 7-year-old's party here but I will come back for my younger kid's party at some point too, maybe multiple times :) One thing I love is how there is stuff for younger siblings too (my 3y/o loved it). The owners Pam and Kristina take care of everything so it is super low stress - we brought in cake, drinks, and goodie bags, and they handled everything (helped us bring stuff in, did set-up, handled trash, they even cut and serve the pizza and cake). Oh and even ordering the pizza. Having seemingly little stuff like that off your plate is so nice. For $35 they put up themed decorations and that was worth it. I had considered a couple other play places (which are great) but I knew they were just going to be too big, loud, and overwhelming for me and my toddler, whereas this was perfect and all kids and parents were happy! Oh and it is CLEAN which is always appreciated, including two easy bathrooms right there with a big changing area for folks with littles. They were very thoughtful in...
