I have drawn my eyebrows for a couple of years now and I really just got tired of doing this everyday. Trying to get them even, finding the right color and keeping them on all day really took up more time than I wanted to spend on eyebrows. I began researching permanent makeup about a year ago and it took a while to find the right person I trusted to permanently draw a feature on my face. I wanted someone with experience and not a pop up shop or someone looking to gain experience by practicing on me. Personally, I had never had a tatoo and was slightly concerned about the overall process, cleanliness, pain, healing, etc. After all the research, reading reviews and looking at photos (you know the drill) I selected Kim Dao permanent makeup to do my eyebrows and I am so glad I found her!
She makes sure you understand the process, answers any questions you have - and I had many! Kim was patient, she made time for me without any distractions - the way it should be! When I wasn't sure what shape I liked best, Kim took the extra time to draw two different eyebrows on my face so I could decide which one I liked best. She then erased the one I didn't like and made it match the one I did like.
Before starting the permanent ink I got to view my brows in the mirror straight on, from the side, while making faces (Lol) and with and without my glasses on my face. Kim made sure they were mapped on my face correctly and followed the natural hair line that still remained. Once I finalized, it was on to let Kim work her majic with permanent ink!
Kim made sure I seen her open the sealed items that she would be using on me and I knew I was safe in her hands. During the process I was shocked at how painless powder brows were for me. Kim and I had wonderful conversation while she erased the daily chore of me drawing my eyebrows on every day and I stayed relaxed.
After the process was complete, Kim gave me my going home packet and we went over everything I needed to do to take care of them over the next 14 days. Kim never missed a beat, she checked in on me via text and answered any follow-up questions I had during the healing process.
It has now been two weeks and I have made it through the healing process and wake up without the chore of drawing on my eyebrows each and every day. Imagine the next time you are in front of a mirror drawing or taking time to tint your eyebrows day after day, week after week that you dont have to do this.
Ladies, my husband has already commented that I get ready much faster! This means he is no longer waiting on me and we can get where we are going much faster!
Kim Dao is the business owner and the artist. She cares about you and the work she does as it is her reputation on the line. She has been in business for many years and has first hand experience. I already have a follow-up appointment in a few months with Kim to make sure I am still happy with her work and I look forward to seeing her again.
Kim is simply amazing! She is smart, friendly, funny and most of all talented. She has a much better artist hand vs mine for sure! I am so glad I found her and made the leap to get this done.
Thank you Kim for all you have done to shave time off my daily routine, boost my confidence and make me look and feel...

I have been wanting to get my eyebrows done for a couple of years but was nervous about doing it. About a year and a half ago I started researching people who do it seriously and Kim was one of the people I liked. I like that she had an IG page which I followed.
I finally decided to gulp take the plunge and make an appointment with Kim. I thought she was the best one out there and I was right.
From the moment I walked in the door Kim was the consummate professional. She was friendly, inviting and put me completely at ease right away.
First we both washed our hands and then we went into the room where she does the brows. She asked me what I wanted. I said Fusion a mix between micro blading and powder.
Then she gave me some paperwork to complete and sign. While I was doing that she was preparing her work area and tools. She showed me the instruments that she would be using were new and in a sealed package. She showed where they would be disposed of in one of those needle boxes you see at the doctors office.
After finishing with the paperwork I went over to the table. She asked me about shape and style. I told her I wanted an arch and to look natural but that I trusted her judgement to determine what would work best for my face and eyes. After all, what do I know about eyebrows? I donât do eyebrows day in day out. Sheâs the professional, I know I like and what I donât like - Fusion, an arch and to look natural. But Kimâs the expert and thatâs why I came to her.
She mixed up a color, showed it to me, we talked about it and she asked for my approval. Next she set to work. While working she explained what she was doing, she checked to see if I was okay or feeling any discomfort and if I had any questions.
I didnât feel anything. It was easy peasy. It was quicker than I thought it would be and before I knew it I was looking into a mirror and voilĂ I had eyebrows for the first time. Kim asked if I was happy with the shape etc! I was so excited to actually have eyebrows. đ€©đ„łđ„°
She then handed 2 packets of ointment and gave me aftercare instructions. First 2 clean eyebrows with Qtip and bottled water and put ointment on it several times a day. On day 3 just dab eyebrows with Qtip do not rub and ointment once a day. Under no circumstances should I itch or pick at my brows.
She said it would take about 2 weeks for the initial healing process and a full 8 weeks for the final process. That my eyebrows would change during the healing process.
We then set my touch up appointment and I scheduled an appointment for Eyeliner, Yup thatâs how much I recommend and trust Kim, I scheduled and procedure with her.
A couple s days after leaving the ever professional Kim texted me to follow up with me to see how I was doing, if I had any questions and if I was happy. Now if thatâs not Customer Care and Service then I donât know what is.
I donât know why I waited so long to take the plunge. It is TOTALLY worth the money and if you are in doubt for any reason, trust me, put you doubts aside and Just Do It! I promise you wonât regret it. My only regret is I didnât do it...
Read moreI had microblading of my eyebrows done by Kim about 10 years ago. A few months later, I wrote a mediocre review because my eyebrows were so orange and the "strokes" of the microblading were very apparent. Numerous people commented on the orange color because my eyebrows are naturally light blonde/brown. Kim wrote to me requesting that I change my review and give her a 5-star rating. I deleted my original review, thinking that my eyebrows would lighten & become more natural over time. But, I didn't rewrite my review. Kim offered to do a procedure depositing a lighter pigment on my eyebrows, but I declined because I didn't want my brows to get worse. I could've taken her up on it, but from the way that it was explained, I would have to go through the microblading procedure again---just depositing a lighter shade. The microblading caused some bleeding and I was wary & distrustful of having it redone. Now, 10 years later, my brows are still orange. After being told that they'd fade in a few years, I'm upset that I still have to live with them this way. No amount of brow pencil disguises it. This time, my review is final. I would not go back to, or recommend her.
I needed to respond to Kim Dao's response to my review! First of all, I have been a registered nurse for over 30 years. I've worked in infection control, in the operating room, and with trauma patients. I've also spent many years taking care of post-operative patients. I think that I have a very good grasp on wound care, as evidenced by my patients and their follow-up appointments with their Surgeons. Kim Dao accused me of picking at and scratching the areas where she'd done microblading on my eyebrows---she did so repeatedly, as if that made her poor work acceptable! For the record, I NEVER scratched or picked at my eyebrows; I know better! She is apparently confusing me with another patient who also wound up with poorly-done microblading colors on their brows. After 8-10 years (approximately) I still have noticeably orange eyebrows & skin--even when I lift up my brows to see the skin underneath. My advice, if you want permanent eyebrows, eyeliner, or lip color, is to contact Andrea Crane, RN, in Raleigh. She does great work and has the background experience, as a nurse, to do a phenomenol job that you'll never regret! Go to someone who is professionally trained and hasn't just taken weekend workshops. Best...
