Village of Matteson — Local services in Rich Township

Matteson Water Department has been estimating my bill for the same amount every billing cycle. $152.72 who use the exact amount of water every month/cycle. I haven't used my dishwasher in over 3 yrs. because I wash my dishes by hand. I only wash my clothes once a month because I'm retired. I wash my bedding once a week. Why can't I get an actual bill, we're they actually came out and took a reading. No way my bill should be the same amount every billing cycle. I will be contacting them in person to get an answer and request an actual reading. There are no obstacles in the way for them to get an actual reading. My bill was around $85 every billing cycle. Something is just wrong/not right. I don't get an actual bill, because I'm on paperless billing...

As a home buyer and new resident in the Village of Matteson, I am compelled to share my extremely disappointing experience with the community. I had high hopes for a well-organized and friendly environment, but unfortunately, my interactions with the Village office have been far from satisfactory. The lack of professionalism, unresponsiveness, and overall disorganization have left me feeling frustrated and disheartened. It is evident that there is a lack of proper training or supervision within the office, resulting in an inefficient and chaotic experience for residents. Matteson, IL lost it's huge Mall a few years ago and really has not been the same since. The Village is really one of those dysfunctional suburbs. For example I was at the intersection of Cicero Avenue and Lincoln Highway during Lunch and they had work crews working on the traffic lights! During the lunch rush!

What brilliant village employee authorized that???? Would that happen in Orland Park, IL??? Not bloody likely. Of course that decision had to come from the village of Matteson, IL
