I am highly dissatisfied with the customer service received from Chuck at the Matteson Home Depot. My husband and I have faithfully spent money at this specific location for our home including recent renovations. Just alone in paint we have spent over $400. Today we decide to do some paint touch ups in the home. We bring in our two gallons of brand new Behr (marquee) paint we purchased. We open the paint and it’s just oil. So we take it to Home Depot thinking it just needs to be mixed just to find out that the paint is no good. We asked for an even exchanged and was told no because of the time and there is nothing that could be done by Chuck. I was very puzzled given this product should last within a year. I paid more money to have a top quality product. So I am not able to perform touch ups, with a house? With kids there will always be some. But I am being told I would have to purchase paint every single time I want to perform a touch up? That’s very costly. When we asked for a manger, Prentice came over and automatically said no and there is nothing he can do. My husband spoke with him more and he stated he can’t exchange it because of the time. After more conversation, he then states he can give us 30% of two new gallons. Why do I have to repurchase for a product that was never open? We asked for someone over him and he stated he was the manager. I had to call the store customer service to find out he was the assistant store manager. Then as me and my husband were talking about his position, Chuck states “we’re lucky I offered 30% off.” We were very offended and my husband explained to him we spend our money here and we should not be given this level of customer service especially from a manager. Chuck then stated “the store manager is worst. He won’t give you anything. Not even 10%.” Now, I’m pissed because that is no way you speak to a customer. He did not care how he spoke with us and treated us like garbage. He was very rude and shouldn’t work in customer service. Even after informing him that we were calling corporate about his behavior, he showed no remorse and continued with his unprofessional behavior. Must I say again, I am highly disappointed. Read moreDo not by appliances form here. Terrible customer service. I was shopping with my 82yr old grandmother for a freg and dishwasher. The associate was ready to go and passed us off to someone not familiar in appliances in another department. They grabbed their coat and left while we were still sitting at the desk for 15min already in. The other associate gave me wrong information when I asked about the freg hookup to a water line being done by the installation team. That was the main reason for buying freg in the first place. On install day the guys installed the dishwasher uneven left water all over my floors and the dishwasher did not even work. I found that out the next day when we were going to wash the dishes. At the same time they told me they could not hook up the freg because there was not pre existing hook up there. Why was I not told this when I was at the store!!! This was the reason for buying the thing, Now I have to spend 350 extra to get a line installed. At the same time my freg is making extremely loud grinding noise because the ice maker is not hooked up. Why did they not turn it off if that was going to happen. Im afraid that my investment may be tarnished because its running dry!!! I call a manager and they did not acknowledge anything but will send someone in 3 days to look at the dishwasher while my freg is probably loosing quality each time it runs dry, I am legally blind and I dont know what to do!! They said if it breaks I have a warranty, that is a terrible response. So the life span of the product is being jeopardized and who knows what's going to happen in the future. Read moreI selected flooring (PE wood & carpet) from Home Depot in Matteson, IL to be installed throughout my entire house. Home Depot scheduled an appointment for today for someone to come measure my floor space. I was told someone would call the morning of the appointment to let me know the time the measurer would be out between 8AM-5PM. About 11AM the day of, someone called to reschedule my appointment to another day. They left a message & I immediately returned the call & spoke with a representative. Because my schedule is tight, and for me, this is a red flag of future delays, I told the representative I’d be shopping elsewhere & that I’d like my deposit for the measurements refunded. I was told I needed to go back into the store for my debit card to be refunded (additional time from my day). When I spoke with the manager (Mario) about my experience & concerns, his only response was “unfortunately, life happens & these things happen”. There wasn’t even an apology or any explanation about why I needed to return to the store for a refund. I am disappointed, as I am looking forward to replacing all the flooring in my house right away. However, speaking with this manager further confirmed the lack of customer service & accountability at Home Depot.
