I bought around $350 plus of merchandise from this merchant when they set up a stall at Muslim Americanâs Societyâs Eid Festival before Eid ul Adha on June 17th, 2023. The merchandise included 3 gowns, a jacket and a purse. I tried the jacket however I didnât realize then that it suffered from a major defect. I have included the pictures from outside and inside. Basically, the lining inside of the right sleeve has been almost twisted 360 degrees before being attached to the outer sleeve. So if you make the outer sleeve right, the inner lining is twisted or the other way around.
The defect manifests itself in the manner that you canât push your right hand out smoothly. You almost have to hold the opening of the sleeve, try to create a hole or otherwise the palm of the hand is stuck in the lining. The left hand comes out easily. I didnât wear the jacket at home and took with me to Houston, where I was visiting my mom and celebrating the Eid with her. Initially, I couldnât understand why my hand was stuck. However when I turned the jacket around, I realized the defective manner in which the lining was sewed. I had already thrown the tag away and I thought when I come back to Dallas, I will visit them in their store and have the jacket exchanged or have it corrected perhaps by their tailor (if they had one).
I arrived back from Houston yesterday and visited them in their store in Richardson. The husband and wife were there with their kids. I explained the defective merchandise and requested that the jacket be switched or be tailored right. The wife and husband both refused saying that their sales are finals and that the tag is missing. I could see that they have many of these jackets hanging in their stores. I am not sure why they were asking for a tag since the jacket in its current form is unsellable because of the defective right sleeve.
The owner lady tried the jacket and said she was able to get her hand out even though she realizes that itâs not a smooth operation, one holds the hole and lining and pushes the hand out.
However the husband and wife could not be bothered to either fix the jacket or replace it. They kept alternating between their âall sales finalâ or âtag missingâ pitch, I explained to them the whole story including that I hadnât noticed the defect when they sold this piece to me in the Muslim American Societyâs Eid festival and that I was waiting to wear it on Eid with my mom in Houston. I warned them that if they donât take accountability for the defectively sewn item, I will post a review on Google.
At that point, the husband went ballistic and started scaring me about how Allah will treat injustice. Imagine, this shop sells me a badly stitched piece, refuses to correct their mistake and then scares me about God.
I would caution that when buying from them, be very careful since this shop does not take accountability for defective items even if those items are worth quite a bit and even you may have spent hundreds on many items.
Thank you...
Read moreIt is really unfortunate I have to write this review, but I need to express my grievance with Palestinian Elegance. This is regarding the interaction I had with Prince and Sulieman yesterday. I've been organizing an event called Rock Out 4 Rafah, which is a karaoke night to fundraise aid for displaced Gazans in Palestine. On June 1st, I had sent an email offering if this store would like to vend at my fundraiser. I figured that while people came to donate and sing, they could also support local Palestinian business as well. I received a response on the 14th from them agreeing to my offer. In our exchange, I was very concise about the details, including time and location. I also answered all questions to the best of my ability, and responded in a timely manner so they could prepare. Yesterday, the event day, two minutes before we open I met Prince and Suliman. Instead of setting up, they told me there was a last minute change and they won't be participating. I found this news disheartening because they did not let me know prior, not even when they messaged me of their arrival. They waited until the very last second in person to let me know. It was incredibly unprofessional. On top of that, the two salesmen were pressuring me to buy $300 worth of keffiyehs off them instead. I declined, because this was not what we agreed to, and they challenged the authenticity of my event. Why? Because I couldn't spend $300 in less than two minutes before my donation-based event started. I had other vendors and my own set up to take care of, for a "last minute change" they seemed to completely disregard my time. I am led to believe they had this idea planned from the beginning because they brought nothing to prepare for vending, not even a table (they asked via email if they needed one, I said yes). This was absolutely disrespectful to me and my fundraising crew. We have spent a lot of time putting our event together, and wanted to do right by offering exposure for Palestinian Elegance. However, if this is how business is conducted here, I am more than satisfied with never working with this store again. If you are someone who buys from here, or hoping to work with them in the future, I would not...
