✨ Heartfelt Review ✨
I am beyond thrilled to write this review because my friends and I had such a beautiful experience here tonight for our girls’ night out. We just wanted a place to unwind, relax, and take a break from our busy daily routines—and this restaurant turned out to be the perfect spot, just as it was highly recommended to us.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by warm, smiling staff who immediately set the tone for the evening. The private booth concept is something I absolutely loved—it gives you such a cozy sense of privacy, where you can sit back, feel at ease, and enjoy the company of your friends and family without any distractions. It’s just you, your loved ones, and wonderful food served with genuine kindness.
A few things that truly stood out for me:
🌸 The welcoming staff who made us feel right at home.
🌸 The private booth—absolutely love the privacy! 10/10 on this.
🌸 Our wonderful server, Ibtihaal—she was warm, polite, attentive, and took special care of us.
🌸 The food—hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious! Truly a full-on treat. 10/10
🌸 The thoughtful shoe rack—such a simple yet meaningful touch.
🌸 The beautiful cushions and the scent of bakhoor/oudh that filled the space—it created such a comforting and authentic atmosphere. 10/10
Now, while everything was amazing, I also have a few suggestions that I believe could elevate the experience even more:
🍵 When serving teas, perhaps offer them in larger teapots so guests can pour as much as they’d like. If served in individual cups, it would be lovely if they were presented on a tray with fresh lemon, sugar, coasters, and everything together in the center—this way, guests can enjoy helping themselves. Mint leaves on our tea was have green half brown. You must make sure its not brown. We were 10 ppl n bought 10 teas. We were having such a great time that we didnt wanna mention it n ignored it. But just since the quality of your food is so good these details should not be overlooked.
📸 Adding pictures to the menu would be so helpful for those new to Yemeni cuisine—it makes exploring the dishes even more exciting.
🌶️ A hot sauce option or chopped green chilies on request would be a great addition for those of us who love a little spice.
🎁 For first-time booth reservations with a bill over $250, offering a small complimentary dish to try would add such a thoughtful welcome touch.
Cutlery and plates- Plates were light melamine, I am sure it must be easy to clean and put away. They can be better quality [ However, This is not a deal breaker ] More serving spoons must be given in 6 ppl platter. Atleast 4
🤳 And lastly, offering to take group pictures for guests would go a long way in helping them capture long-lasting memories of their time here.
Overall, our experience was filled with warmth, delicious food, and a beautiful ambiance. It was more than just dinner—it was a truly memorable evening. I can’t wait to return and bring more friends and family with me next time. 💕
This is definitely on our list of fav places to come bk to ❤️🤩❤️🤩❤️🤩 Loved this place!...
Read moreIf you’re looking for authentic, flavorful, and 100% halal Yemeni cuisine, Yemandi is a must-visit in Richardson. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We sat in the traditional ground seating area, which really added to the experience. While the space was a little small for our party, it still felt cozy and inviting — and honestly made the meal feel even more special.
Now let’s talk food — every dish we ordered was delicious in its own way, but a few stood out.
The Lamb Haneeth and Chicken Kabsh were hands down the stars of the table. The lamb was fall-off-the-bone tender, perfectly seasoned with deep, savory spices that really bring out that slow-roasted flavor. The chicken kabsh was just as flavorful — moist, fragrant, and paired beautifully with the spiced rice. You could tell the ingredients were high quality and the preparation was done with care.
We also got the Chicken Akdah, which came out bubbling hot in a clay pot. The meat was tender and coated in a rich tomato-based sauce that had the perfect balance of heat and spice. Our kids couldn’t get enough of it — they kept asking for more!
The Veal Fahsah was comforting and hearty — shredded veal in a bubbling stew, served with freshly baked tandoor bread that had black seeds sprinkled on top. The bread was soft, warm, and perfect for scooping up the stews and sauces. It came out fresh from the oven and added a special homemade touch to the meal.
The Charred Beef Lahm had a deep smoky flavor and a juicy, char-grilled finish that added a bold contrast to the rest of the dishes. It was a perfect balance of crispy edges and tender meat — highly recommend.
For dessert, we tried the Royal Dessert — a rich, creamy layered pudding topped with nuts. It was dense, filling, and indulgent — definitely something to share. A sweet end to a flavorful meal.
Lastly, I have to give a shout-out to our waitress, Ibtihaal. She was amazing…patient, kind, and made us feel right at home. She walked us through the menu and gave great...
Read moreIn terms of the actual dining experience itself, such a cool and fun concept. Since we didn’t mind taking off our shoes, we got to sit crossed legged style in one of the booths to eat our dishes, making it feel more authentic. However if you’re not okay with that, you can just sit at one of their regular tables. Will just say you’d miss out on the experience as the seat cushions were nice and with the aromatic incense wafting through, the booth was a good yapping session area.
Now as for the food, I honestly just did not vibe. As it was my first time trying Yemeni food, I didn’t know what to expect but I certainly did not foresee the salad being sooooo sour. Caught me by surprise and despite being a salad lover, couldn’t eat more than a few bites. The other dishes were also tangy and a little dry so I didn’t eat much, but the bread and the chicken of one of the dishes were yummy. However, the aesthetics were so pretty and I am glad to have tried this cuisine to know for myself.
So, if you’re looking to expand your cuisine, I’d still recommend this place. It might not be up in my alley (bc I’m more used to Asian spices), but considering how well the experience went, I think it’s something worth trying. Especially with the customer service we received, this place was worth the money (about $100 total spent) and time spent here. We also got a free complimentary dessert and chai tea!
SOMETHING TO NOTE THOUGH - the portions are HUGE. We were a party of 8 and could not finish the 5 dishes we ordered - genuinely think the portions would’ve been better for a party of 12+ ppl - so if you’re wanting to try different dishes, just be careful. Bring friends or an...
