I would advise against this company. After miscommunications and delays, the job was finally completed on May 23, 2014 after the initial start date of 6 May. I found myself in utter shock when the work was “complete.”

First, and most important, the crew never informed me when the job was done. They just left. I was under the impression they were leaving to get more mulch to finish the job. However, they never returned.

Now, the job itself was not anywhere near what I was expecting. Starting in the back yard, I have what can only be described at two different grasses. I ordered centipede but I now seem to have a mixture of St. Augustine and centipede that looks absolution ridiculous when it grows out. Next, there are still patches in the back yard that I would have preferred sod placed. However, with no final checkout, I was unable to request it.

Moving to the front yard, my main request was a reduction in size of the pine straw circle surrounding my tree, giving me more yard space. The crew removed the pine straw but failed to backfill with any dirt. Thus, when the sod was placed, it created a large and noticeable depression in the yard. Moreover, the requested two-foot circle around the tree (to be filled with the mulch I thought they left to get) was more of a three-foot un-leveled egg shaped dirt spot.

After it became apparent the crew was not returning I called the company to find out what was going on and express my dissatisfaction. I did receive a verbal apology but the apology did little to correct the problem. I proceeded to email the company on May 30th with pictures of the job and again on June 3rd. In the June 3rd email I requested the owner to please come and look at the job so I could point out the problems.

I have received no response to my emails. I, as the customer, have expressed dissatisfaction and have even requested the owner to come and look at the job but have been ignored. Sadly, I have already paid my invoices in full. I now feel my only options are this review and to contact the Better...

My husband and I decided to give our front yard a much needed remodel. I went to Elmgren's and purchased some boxwood shrubs as well as set up delivery for 30 bales of straw. After leaving, my father volunteered to drive 60 miles here to help me get the straw since we don't own a pickup truck. I called back and spoke to the associate that I would need to cancel my order entirely since my dad wouldn't arrive until after they closed and we would get the straw from another local company that would be open the next day (Sunday). She didn't want to lose my business so she informed me that we could come by after hours to pick it up. Once my dad arrive, we came to get the 30 bales of straw that I purchased. We saw a black SUV pull up so I initially thought it was an employee coming to help us. To my surprise it was the owner informing us that the POLICE were on their way. I explained to him what the employee told me, he proceeded to check the books, confirmed my purchase. The police arrived and he told him that everything was fine. He didn't offer to help us load the straw on the truck which I thought would have been the least he could do after the situation.

On Monday, I returned to get a refund on the delivery charge and the owner struck me as being rude and unwelcoming. Not the impression I expected to get when he almost had a paying customer arrested due to a lack of communication between hin and his employee. He didn't even apologize or offer a discount for the horrible experience. Not to mention that the employee never gave me a receipt because the printer was down so God know what would have happened if the police had arrived before the owner could verify my purchase. I recently had the pleasure of using Elmgren Services’ professional services for the design and installation of pavers and landscaping for my backyard area.

What started out as a simple visit to his gardening and landscaping business to view planters resulted in a path to finalize my backyard area renovation. Within a very short period of time, Greg's design expertise helped me select the paver design (i.e., material, colors, and pattern) and preliminary landscaping concepts.

During the paver installation work, each morning his paver installation team welcomed me with a friendly smile, they consistently demonstrated positive attitude, they frequently sought my feedback on how their work was progressing, and each evening ensured the work area was organized and clean. Within a relatively short period of time, the paver project was completed in a professional manner.

Predicated upon his team's quality work and Greg's frequent site visits, I decided to award Elmgren Services the design and plant selection for the backyard landscaping.

I found Greg and his team to be professional and friendly. At multiple points during both projects they sought my review and approval of their work. The work was performed in a quality, professional manner, and not only was completed on time, plus completed within my budget!
