FORTBAND COUNTY They are ruthless people, I had paid my property taxes on time, one month before they were due, but my bank returned check due to my mistake to left off on digit in my account number. It was honest mistake and county should waive the late charges, but they insisted to panelized me. I moved here from Georgia, this tells me how ignorant and dictatorially ford band county employees treating taxpayers whose taxes are paying their salaries. I had different but similar issue in Georgia that I put wrong mailing address and taxes were not paid when I contacted Georgia county office, they asked proved that I paid. I showed them proof what happened, and they waived the late charges, how nice, this is how county employee should treat taxpayer if such honest mistake occurs. Not only they refuse to help but they were very rude even so-called supervisor I talked to, she was ruthless and rude. I wish taxpayers would have clearly directed place where they complain against this treatment. Compare to Georgia I had more clear and undeniable proof this time that I paid my taxes on time and it was honest mistake, but the supervisor told me she was last person I could reach. It looks like they are running the county office like third world country where people have no rights...

The receptionist who refused to give me her name on 10/19/2016 around 4:35pm had plenty legal advice to support her position on why she could not transfer me to the D.A.
