Read moreI just left LIT bookbar for the onyx storm book release party and I am very upset! I purchased a ticket online for $40 which on their instagram ad said it would include the special edition book with snacks. Special edition book cost 32.99 plus tax so I went ahead and purchased this because I thought I was getting the special edition book. When I got there I did not get the special edition book. I got a regular book which cost 20.89 plus tax. But nowhere on their website nor on their instagram did it say there was only a certain amount of special editions. The advertisement was very misleading and I am annoyed because I lost money. The snacks included were charcuterie board stuff which I feel was not worth the price of the money I lost and no alcohol drink or any drinks were included with this. Please beware with their ads.
2nd response: Hello,
Where on your website did it say that? Because I don’t see that anywhere or did not receive any notice of this. Also, I purchased through your instagram ad and there it said the fee of $40 included the special edition. But nowhere on there did it say it was limited. That was very misleading. That was the only reason why I purchased these tickets and went out of my way to go there because I don’t live anywhere near there and in the weather conditions that there were I wouldn’t have drove like that for the standard book. Had I known I was not guaranteed the special edition book I wouldn’t have purchased any tickets and gotten the book elsewhere where I would have been guaranteed the special edition. The standard hard book cover is coming up on my end 20.98 with target. So I lost money here because I purchased 2 tickets which total cost me $82 for only standard books. See below pictures of your ad and I also screenshot from your website and nowhere did it say what you mentioned. This was very disappointing of you all not to be more...
Read moreI decided to give Lit Book Bar a shot after seeing it on Instagram, especially since my friend had pre-ordered a book and received a message inviting her to bring a friend. Upon arriving for the ‘Day of Onyx’ event, I was greeted by a rude woman at the door. While the setup with snacks and games seemed inviting, I was told I couldn’t participate. Even after showing her the message confirming that I was allowed as a guest, she still refused, despite there being more than enough snacks and space available.
This lack of clear communication and the dismissive attitude made me feel unwelcome. For future events, I highly recommend staying away from this place. There are plenty of other places to get your books when they drop, and this experience was not worth the trouble. Very disappointing. For future events I don’t understand why would they even send messages to invite or bring an extra friend. For the lady at the door I am sure all the snacks probably just went to the trash but it comes down to just worse customer...
