Not a fan that the cosmetics lady that helped me repeatedly kept talking to me about samples about everything that I would ask about. She was nice and got the right shade of color corrector I came in for, but she kept bringing up samples of things over and over, and finally I had to ask if I can even buy anything which was quite odd. I never asked for a sample. I asked about the creams, but she kept bringing up over and over that she didnt have samples of it. At one point, I questioned if there was a prerequisite of trying a sample before you are allowed to buy. At the end of all the sample talk, I had to ASK if I can buy anything!!!!! I can only assume that she assumed i couldnt afford to but anything because i wasnt wearing anything fancy or expensive, which is highly discouraging because that means I was profiled as poor...so her effort to help me buy a cream was limited because she assumed I was only there for samples. Then she sealed the deal with how I felt by telling me I wasnt allowed to return anything, when I read on the saks return policy online, that wasnt true. You can only return if lighly used and less than 10 percent which is a tight policy, but still it showed she was lying. Every poor person judgement she applied to me, and it was truly disappointing. It outshined that she shade matched me perfectly. And fyi, I make too much money to qualify for a stimulus bonus, so I wasn't there blowing stimulus money and I can afford an eye cream or two when I feel like it. But my feelings wont like shopping there again because makeup shopping is supposed to appeal to my emotions and flattery...and be fun. Theres nothing fun about being judged that you are poor and only come in to scam samples and your questions on trying to decide what cream you want are faintly answered because the lady at the counter doesn't think...
Read moreIf 0 stars were an option, I'd pick that. I scheduled an appointment with a beauty consultant a week in advance. The confirmation email said to arrive 10 minutes ahead of time. I arrived early but the store was still closed so I waited outside in the cold for 10 minutes. Upon entering, I asked the man unlocking the doors (presumably the manager) where I needed to go for my appointment. He said any of the ladies at the beauty counter could assist. I approached the lady and told her I had an appointment and showed her the email, and explained what I was there for. She had never heard of appointments being offered but said she could help. I told her I wanted to find the right foundation that worked for my skin and skintone. She didn't ask me any questions to understand my skin and immediately said how about Chanel? I asked why she picked that one to start without understanding my concerns or my skin type, and she said I don't know, maybe you want Chanel. I told her this already wasn't right for me. I picked Saks because i wanted to find highly trained cosmetic professionals that could guide me, rather than someone just picking a brand to push. I already knew this wasn't going to work if she didn't want to even ask me about what I needed or anything about my skin. I tried to call to talk to the manager to see if they have someone better trained or even how they take appointments but no one seems to know about them. The automated answering service doesn't even give you the option to speak with anyone at the store, just about your credit cards or placing an order. This was a bad experience and not in line with their...
Read moreUnacceptable Quality and Repeated Service Failures for Premium Price
I am writing this review after three failed attempts to purchase a pair of sunglasses. This was supposed to be a birthday gift from my girlfriend, and the entire experience has been defined by shockingly poor quality control and completely unacceptable logistical errors.
The first pair my girlfriend bought was immediately returned due to its cheap, poor quality. She attempted an exchange, selecting a different pair that cost nearly $500. Upon inspection, this second, premium-priced pair was bent and visibly deformed.
We returned the second defective pair, and the staff correctly determined they would need to order a new replacement. However, the store then compounded the issue by ordering an entirely different and incorrect model. This resulted in further significant delays. Now we have to seek a third return.
For a product approaching $500, the combination of quality control failures and a major service breakdown (ordering the wrong replacement item) is simply unacceptable. Consumers expect reliability and accuracy when paying premium prices. I strongly advise against purchasing high-end items from this location given the lack of attention to quality and...
