Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry — Local services in Ridgeland

I think this is a nice jewelry store and know many people who’ve had a good experience. Unfortunately it wasn’t my turn. I went in looking for 14 or 18 karat gold earrings for my daughter and also to change the battery on an Omega watch. I had called earlier to see if they had these earrings and a lady told me yes. So here I was. An older salesman approached me. He grabbed my wrist and said, “That’s a nice watch. What is it?” Well I wasn’t wearing the Omega obviously bc it needed a battery. I said Citizen. Oh. Plop and let go of my wrist. When I was told they don’t change Omega batteries and the watch would have to be sent off, I declined. When I then inquired about the earrings, he proceeded to put his hand on my shoulder, told me I could be helped by the other jewelry store at the Renaissance, all the while acting like he was doing me a favor while pushing me out the door. With my child. I felt like I was in a Crazy Rich Asian beginning scene or any movie where they don’t like something about you (yep I was in a plain shirt and not my Burberry) and then get nice nasty. I have been a customer of Lee Michaels for about 25 years beginning with the Baton Rouge Louisiana store. I was so very happy to find that Lee had opened a store in Ridgeland Mississippi much closer to me.

Through the years I have done a great deal of business with them and have always been very pleased with my purchases.

In the Ridgeland location, their customer service is excellent. The staff is very personable and always helpful. I am always very politely greeted by name when I walk through the door in the Ridgeland store.

If I need any jewelry customization or repair it is always handled quickly and is done to my exacting standards and always to my satisfaction.

Of note... Bob Hustman, a salesman in Ridgeland Mississippi location. Bob personally handles all my jewelry needs. If I have any questions at all about a watch or any other piece of jewelry I may be interested in, I contact him first. He is very knowledgeable and expedient about relaying the information that I need and/or the purchase I want to make. He is a true asset to the Lee Michael's franchise.

People are nice, took 2 LumiNox watches and a David Yurman in for new batteries. Yurman was fine. They said one of the LumiNox had a new battery placed but the other would need to be taken back to manufacturer. They said they don’t work on those because they are an equinox dealer. Not LumiNox. On the Luminox they put the battery in I noticed my second hand wasn’t working. The salesman told me that was normal. I protested but my concerns were dismissed. Very friendly guy. Now my watch only runs for about two hours before dying. The adjustment dial is slipping when changing date. I have to believe that they broke my $1000 watch with a smile on their face. Now I have to send it in to repair whatever they did to my watch.🙄 Why didn’t they mention the Luminox issue when I dropped them off?? Why didn’t they get someone who knew what they were talking about to talk to me? Like the repair person. I didn’t have time to stay and argue as my daughter was getting married that day and I had to get my wife her watch. Follow up. The Jeweler reached out and sent my watch back to the manufacturer for repair....
