One Star - Unacceptable Service & Botched Delivery
I recently placed a DoorDash order from Aplos Ridgeland, and the experience was nothing short of aggravating and disappointing. I ordered a shrimp, corn & bacon pizza, a hummus plate (half pita, half veggies), Greek fries, 2 tzatziki sauces, an Aplos supreme pizza, and 2 creamy feta sauces; a fairly straightforward order...or so I thought.
About 40 minutes after ordering, I got a call from a DoorDash customer service rep telling me that Aplos didn’t give the driver the pizzas. That’s right, the main part of the meal was just left out, and the driver was sent off with only the sides and sauces. What exactly are we paying for here?
To make matters worse, I had to personally drive to the restaurant to pick up the pizzas myself. The entire point of using a delivery service is so that I don’t have to do that, time is money. Instead, Aplos made me jump through hoops to fix THEIR mistake.
When I arrived at the restaurant, the two young women at the pickup desk were fully aware of the issue, which tells me this wasn't some one-off slip-up, but a screw-up they had time to acknowledge and still didn't rectify proactively. Their idea of making it right was offering me a free drink.
A drink? After I had to play delivery driver for my own order because of their carelessness?
I told them I’d “handle it online”...and this is me doing just that. Aplos, you need to train your staff better, tighten up your fulfillment process, and understand that a customer’s time and trust is worth more than a free drink. If I wanted to drive across town to pick up a half-complete order, I wouldn’t have used DoorDash in the first...
Read moreWe eat out a lot, scattered across Jackson, Madison, Ridgeland and surrounding areas. Aplos was on our list. We even stopped in for a scouting prior to taking our Mom out to eat there. Nice, bright, clean and new. The dinner experience: You pay first (and likely tip too). We chose to sit outside, it was evening and the temperature was comfortable inside and out. The outside fans we still on and sitting downwind of one was less than desirable (and unnecessary given the temperature). Upon seating, my Mom's chair was covered in water--that and the fans were enough to move so we did. A staff member wasn't thrilled with us moving, rude in fact. We asked for appetizers to be delivered first. The appetizers were delivered after our main dishes, one was forgotten/missed on top of that. The lighting outside was poor, we could barely see our plates. Our drinks were served and then we were summarily forgotten. Not one stop by to check on us and we had to flag someone down to get our check. The food was ok. Across the board (every dish), everything was too salty. Not just "I don't like salt too much" salty. I mean salty like "ingredient one" is salt salty. The prices were more than reasonable and the location is awesome -- incredible potential. However, I...
Read moreLet me tell you about my go-to spot, Aplos. You know that feeling when a restaurant is always busy, and you can already tell it’s going to be great before you even take a bite? That’s exactly what happens every time I visit Aplos—every table is filled!
Because it’s so popular, I usually end up taking my meal home to enjoy in peace. But let me tell you, their food tastes fantastic no matter where you eat it. My absolute favorite is the rice bowl. It comes with fragrant Basmati rice, charred corn, cucumber, tomato, bell pepper, onion, feta, olives, and a creamy feta sauce. I always add chicken on top, and it’s pure heaven in a bowl!
Now, if you do decide to stick around and find yourself a seat, you’ve got to try the Greek fries. They’re crispy, sprinkled with parmesan, and totally worth staying for. And let’s not forget the cauliflower—it’s another solid choice if you’re up for something a little different.
All in all, Aplos is definitely busy for a reason. Whether you order to-go or wait for a table, you really can’t go wrong with anything on their...
