My little sister (20y/o), nieces (20y/o & 23 y/o) and stepdaughter (19 y/o) visited this location this morning for my sister's birthday. They sat outside on the patio (I arrived later) and again, our server was Alexia P. We all had water to drink, but my sister who just turned 20 today and my 20 y/o niece were able to order/purchase alcoholic drinks, although being underage. My little sister had the Blueberry Margarita and my niece, the Spiked Raspberry Lemonade. Neither one was asked for their ID for proof of age. This all happened before I arrived. I had a slight issue with my order, Huevos Rancheros; I overlooked on the menu that the eggs were cooked over-medium. When I got the dish, I questioned how the eggs were prepared as I don't prefer over-medium cooked eggs. Alexia just said, "That's the way the come.", without a hesitation to ask if it was ok, did I want them prepared another way, etc. Ultimately, the yolks were solid enough for me to remove them from the dish. My stepdaughter then ordered ONE pancake, eggs w/ cheese and a side of City Grits. When her order was brought out, she had 3 pancakes and the remainder of her order. It took Alexia a while to come back to the table once food was delivered, because my stepdaughter had a question about the 3 pancakes. So, my stepdaughter proceeded to eat only her eggs and grits because she did not order 3 pancakes, only one. It was not until after she'd finished her sides, that Alexia came out and she inquired about the pancakes. Alexia then told her ABE does not sell single cakes, only double or full stack entree. **Teachable moment: When she ordered the one cake, at that time she should have been told no single pancakes are sold, only in double for full stack, and give my stepdaughter the option to choose, not just charge her the highest cost.** So, Alexia just said OK and left the table. She did not return to communicate what the correction to her ticket would be. We didn't find that out until the checks were brought out. We were sitting on the patio, where the girls chose to sit. At this time of morning, it was about 85-89 degrees out. We were in the shade, but of course it was still warm. I said that to say, Alexia only came to refill our water glasses ONCE, and that was after us asking other nearby servers TWICE. All of our glasses water glasses were empty soon after we received our food! They did not get filled until right before she brought the checks. Throughout the whole dining experience, server Alexia was very nonchalant, and as an issue arose, I could feel/see a change in her attitude/demeanor which she was not able to recover from. Her service today was well below my expectations, based on prior experiences I've had here. Overall, some of the items we order were good: Omelets, Pancakes and French Toast. However, the City Grits seemed like they had been reconstituted/not the norm consistency and were not of the better quality I have experienced at the restaurant before. My niece received a half of English muffin that has two short, curly hairs on it…she just put it in a napkin to be discarded. The Huevos Rancheros were not a hit, as it's one of my most favorite foods. It was overly packed with onions, peppers, and beans. The tortillas were sitting in the liquid(s) of the onions, peppers, etc. and the bottom half were soggy by the time it got to me. I must say this was an experience that would make me not patronize this location for a good while. Over the years’ visits, it has been great, but today’s service was well below expectations we had.

I came to eat here with my wife at the Ridgeland location in the beginning of April. We had about a 45 minute wait when we came here, but I have eaten at other locations so I wanted to wait. It has been a while since I went to Another Broken egg, but I feel like the menu was a bit limited this time. My wife and I were still able to find something we wanted, I just feel like their menu is smaller than I remember. I got the Mardi Gras Omelette. The tomato hollandaise sauce that came with it was real tasty. Kinda a sweet sauce. Not overly sweet though. I also got the red pepper sauce on the side from their Al Pastor Benedict (just the sauce) on the seasonal menu. The wifey got the Street Corn Sampler and half waffle. We both got coffee. I entered a contest they had and won which was exciting, but I still have not received my gift card :-(. Only critique is that if our server was a little more attentive and if they honor their contest. The reason for the three star on the food is there was nothing wrong with the food, but it didn't jump at me as this is super delicious or anything better than where you may find at a similar place. The biscuit that came with my meal was pretty standard, definitely have had better. Almost like it was a pre-bought biscuit that was heated up. Still not bad but seemed basic. It was about an average overall meal. Wouldn't mind having brunch here again.

SERVICE: Not good. Arrived Fri 5/14 prior to the lunch crowd. Greeted by a hostess with a bit of an attitude. Although the dining area was only half full, we were told it would be a 35m wait. Subsequently waited 35m (almost exactly, as though we were put on timer) then we were seated at one of the available tables that we had been looking at for the past 35m(!!!). Our server, Lakeisha, was friendly; however, there were long gaps between visits from her. Most check-ins were as she was walking by, so any request (such as a couple of additional napkins) seemed to be an interruption rather than a genuine offer for service. FOOD: Above average breakfast. Unique menu items (but the menu design was a little hard to read - too many "bold" fonts). Portions were decent but, for the price, really should have been a little heartier. Coffee was average, but the coffee cups were cool. Offered to purchase a couple ($20 ea) but was then told they didn't have enough to sell. OVERALL: Not a great experience, but there's potential. But will likely NOT RETURN because the Pros don't outweigh the Cons.

We arrived on a Saturday mid-morning, 2 adults, 3 kids. We were told 30-35 min wait, after more than 40 mins of waiting, we went back in to see what was going on and were told by the manager, “you were given a 30-45 min wait, it’s only been 48” to which we and another patron stated we were all told 30-35 minutes. The manager said we now had 4 people in front of us because they had reserved through Yelp and wouldn’t give us a new time estimate. We complained that that wasn’t right since we’ve already been waiting 20 mins past our estimate. They finally seated us and when the food was brought out (decently timed) the waffle ordered had nothing appealing to it, just 3 blueberries, no butter or powdered sugar or anything to pretty it up. The huevos rancheros was missing the potato’s, the bacon was undercooked and raw, and the portion sizes of the sides (scrambled eggs) were miniscule. We had to continuously remind our server or food bringer of basic things we had ordered or also needed lime syrup or the food we were missing. When it came time to pay, we had to wait another 5-10 minutes from the time the server brought our check. We had to ask a hostess to find him so we could pay, and then he took another 5+ mins attending to other patrons before running our card. From the time we arrived, it took us 2.5 hours to be seated and then be able to leave. Very poor management, very poor experience overall. We will not be going back to...

( 3 Years of So-So Visits... Until Now!)

My husband and I have been coming to Another Broken Egg for the past 3 years, mainly because there aren’t many other nice breakfast spots in the area. However, we rarely came often due to repeated issues with quality. In the past, we experienced things like dirty dishes, lukewarm meals, soggy/ cold hash potatoes, and even spoiled or moldy produce on a few occasions. While the service was always kind, we eventually stopped visiting altogether because we didn’t want to keep risking a disappointing experience (and we didn't like complaining).

That said… we returned two days ago and were pleasantly surprised! The food quality has drastically improved! Everything was fresh, hot, and well-prepared. It honestly felt like a completely different kitchen. We wondered if there had been a change in chefs or management, but our lovely server, Maiseha, told us that wasn’t the case. They’ve simply stepped it up (maybe because management was there that day). But overall we were really glad to hear that.

A special shoutout to Maiseha, who was attentive, kind, and made our visit even better. The trainee she was working with was also incredibly sweet (we didn’t catch her name, but she was doing a great job!).

We’re genuinely happy to see how much this location has turned around. Great job to the chef and staff for the clear improvements, we’ll definitely be back...
