BEWARE! Please read before getting your dress altered here. This place is an upscale boutique with lots of designer couture gowns which caters to Sonia's (the owners) massive clientele. I came here with a gown I purchased from somewhere else with the hopes of getting alterations done and closing up a gown that was too revealing. When I first came in Sonia was OK, she was polite but quite cold, not really the attitude she had with the rest of her customers but I brushed this off. I showed her my Jovani gown and told her what I wanted done and asked her what she could do to stay within my budget, she told me what she could do and agreed to stay within my budget and I was happy with her offer. Fast forward about a month and a half after numerous try ons and fittings when the dress was finally complete, I was happy and the dress looked perfect because the tailor here is amazing. Unfortunately, Sonia just has a snarky attitude and you can tell all she sees is dollar signs. She told me she never agreed to the price we had intiailly agreed on (doesn't even make sense right?) and she wants to charge me $50 more than we agreed on. She's in her store throwing a tantrum and catching attitude with me while I tried to remain calm and polite with her and explained that I told her my budget and she had agreed to stay within my budget. Sonia just wasn't having it and being so money hungry she would rather break an agreement to make a few more dollars than see a happy customer. Basically BEWARE of Gatti Nolli, I believe they do not have reviews on Yelp for a reason. I really am not impressed by this place and the reason is the owner. Buying a dress is something very personal and you want someone who's going to be honest and make you feel welcome. I did not feel welcome at all through all my visits to Gatti Nolli and if it wasn't for the tailor here I would've taken my...
Read moreAfter an unpleasant experience with a competitor in Harriman while searching for the perfect dress for my son's upcoming-April wedding, a friend recommended Gattinolli in Ridgewood, NJ.. Upon meeting the owners, Sonia and Daniella, it became quickly apparent that I had come to the right place. Their inviting warmth and empathy were such a welcome relief after the experience I'd had previously, immediately putting me at ease. They could not have been more accommodating. I found a gorgeous dress on my first visit. When I went for my first appointment, I noticed the print was slightly off center. I hesitated to complain because the difference was minimal. However, after bringing it to Sonia's attention, she called the designer immediately, explaining that her customer was unhappy. She ordered me a new dress which arrived promptly, and is absolutely exquisite! Their suggested alterations made the dress 100% PERFECT! My beautiful dress is exactly what I've imagined, and I cannot wait to wear it. Additionally, they were instrumental with helping me choose my accessories, and even helped with alterations on the flower girl's dress (that wasn't even purchased there.) After my own pleasant experience, I suggested that my sister-in-law from Virginia go there to find a dress for her daughter's upcoming wedding. Not surprisingly, they helped find the perfect dress for her, as well. She's ecstatic. I have several upcoming affairs to attend. Needless to say, I'll be heading straight...
Read moreGattinolli custom dress shop & alterations are beyond talented! I recently got married & my mother ordered a dress from a different retailer that told her it would not arrive on time. My mom frantically went to Gattinolli & was helped by Sonia & her daughter Daniella. Sonia quickly ordered her a new dress from a designer that came in quickly. My mother ordered 2 of the same dresses. She does not like her arms showing so Sonia was able to customize her dress by adding a cape to the back by cutting up one of the dresses. It looked as if the dress had been made that way all along.
Then my MIL brought in her dress for the wedding & also had Sonia add onto it. She was able to make a cap sleeve to help cover her arms as well by using the material she cut off the bottom of the gown & the shawl that came with it. This saved her the expense of purchasing additional materials. Yet again, it looked as if it was already made to be that way.
Lastly, I brought in my mothers wedding gown. Sonia was able to cut off the train from my mothers 1980’s wedding gown & turn it into a custom veil for me. I had to purchase the comb that the veil would adhered to & she was able to assemble everything. Sonia & Daniella at Gattinolli are extremely talented at what they do. They made the whole experience seamless for all of us & we are so appreciative that they made all of us look amazing for...
